Is the treble sharper than the ER4SR/ER4S?, Or still smooth but much more detailed.

My ER3SE is showing up in the mail tomorrow. Excited to try these puppies out. This will be my first experience with any Etymotic iems. My Fiio M3 Pro is not set to be here until probably Thursday, so I will just test out the ER3SE for the next few days with my home setup. My portable setup will end up being the ER3SE, Fiio M3 Pro, Topping NX3S. My SMSL M300 MK2 DAC and Audio-GD C-2 (2017 Edition) headphone amp should make for quite the first impression with a pair of iems.

Noticed that too with the ER4B EQ i have. The misinfo on the ER4 is insane since i had few on Reddit say with no irony/though. It's driver can't handle the extra treble or struggle with bass, Since one dude did that after hyping the ER4B and the ER4B FR on a ER4S/SR by EQ.

Can someone help by checking my work. I found someone to build a 4.4mm cable for my ER4XR but I need to find/provide the connectors for them to do it. I believe these are the ones with the notch http://www.lunashops.com/goods.php?id=5734
So not being very DIY knowledgeable, I am assuming you can use a balanced cable with those connectors. If so does anyone know of someone is selling/shipping these out of the USA to avoid less covid shipping issues? Thanks

Yep the older harman profile for the ER4 was +12 db 79Hz low shelf. The ER4B EQ with +4db bass boost it whole different beast like watching a 4K TV with HDR on. I think one head fi user got +20db out of the ER4S by making the center freq 40 ~ 50Hz.

I had re-read that comment when i saw that, That planar/electrostatic levels. Most on the ER4SR admit to +8db being used, Seems like thd for bass on the ER4 stays at only 0.6% for S/SR/SE while the 4XR its 1%.
Seems like Etymotic knows what BAs can fully do, Since the size peaks at 5mm on 4SR & 4S.

There was a time when I'd tried adding +5dB bass boost to er4s once. Honestly, it sounded like poop, er4p like or even worse

I just got a custom 50 cm balanced cable made for my er3se. Using this with the ES100 mk2. WOW WOW WOW. The balanced amplification takes this to another level. Stronger, more dynamic. bass has a lot more punch, clearer. I hoped for some noticeable improvement from the balanced connection, but this is more than I hoped for. I am all smiles.
My er3se showed up today. I will test them out tonight to see how they perform. I am glad I ended up getting the limited edition version. It will be interesting to test out all the different tips. It comes with 7 different sets of tips. This should be enough options to guarantee a good seal in any size or shape of ear canal.
