My new cable arrived yesterday, and my broken ER4S are now working and sounding amazing again.

Thank you so much to cliOS for the cable recommendation!-Really appreciate that.

I actually have an old pair of ER4P that need a new cable too. Would that cable i bought turn them into ER4S because of the 100ohm or would they still be ER4P? It was this one:

What would be the best one to keep the ER4P sound?
is it hard to remove the stock cable?

That lunashops cable will turn any old ER4 to a 4S. If you want the 4P sound, get this (http://www.lunashops.com/goods.php?id=5486) and a 20ohm impedance adapter (i.e. https://penonaudio.com/3.5mm-impedance-adapter.html).

Do Comply or Shure olive tips change the sound?

I'm using the small triple fangled tips and while they sound amazing, they don't isolate very well during my subway commute. The insertion is already very uncomfortable and I don't want to push it any deeper.
I find that the Comply or Ety foam tips not only isolate much better but sound better as well--richer bass and less thin. I've tried the flanged tips many times over the last 15+ years of Etymotic use but, for me, the foam tips are the way to go.

I'm buying a bunch of tips for my ER4XR to try out:

Comply (T-100)
Spinfit (CP-800)
Shure (EABKF1-10)

Am I missing any? Not sure if JVC spiral dots will fit.

Isn't Spintfit too shallow to get a proper fit/length? Btw, my favorite tip is cutting off the smallest flange of the bigger 3 flanges and turning them into bi-flanges.

Small size spinfit can do deep insertion. And cutting off smallest flange will make the sound piercing and unstable to wear.

Maybe if you're doing that on the frost blue triple flanges which are indeed smaller but I haven't any problems wearing them with the grey/transparent ones modded. Also, my ear canal is shorter than average so YMMV.

Spinfits work well; no deep insertion but a very good seal. I recently bought an used pair of ER4XR and I'm very happy so far. Didn't came with any triple flange so I don't know what I'm missing...?

You're missing a lot of discomfort but very nice sound (trebles sound great).
