Brown for me please - 3 pairs.Hi yes well all I would say is watch this space because, out of a pure labour of love for Etymotic, I will be buying many Knowles dampers in various forms and resizing them to fit onto any Ety IEMs. Not only that but I have an idea for shipping them with a removal tool that will make the filters reusable so you can play with tuning without waste (unless of course you have to replace them because of blockages after extensive use)
So yeah I would really really appreciate it if as many people as possible from wherever they are in the world would let me know exactly which filters they'd like - perhaps even a selection of all of them just to try.
I will work out prices soon but I promise the costs will be far cheaper than Ety. I'm not looking to make a penny of profit from this so it will mostly come down to shipping costs from UK
And apologies for not replying to some people who requested filters a few months back. Please simply let me know which filters and how many you'd like and we can go from there.
Thanks Ety fam!

You are wrong - these are like the standard ety silicone tips, but with "long stem" whatever that means IRL.

So the size is like regular grey tips that come with old ER4?
From the pics so it seems (sans the "long stem") Difficult to judge on the material, but looks the soft type. I use very similar/same for hf5 when mowing the grass
Etymotic is selling 2 different sets of 10 triflange tips but I don’t get the difference?
I thought the ER38-18 fits the ER4 series but their description doesn’t include the ER4 (“For use with ETY•Kids, HD5 Safety, mc3, mc2, mc5 and Home Hearing Test.”)
https://www.etymotic.com/product/er38-18cl/
The second set is this one, for ER4.

So what’s the difference between the two? Does the ER38-18 fit ER4XR or not?
Later edit: did more research. It makes sense now.

Same size, different materialWhat’s your opinion on stock clear tips vs the gray ones? Pics below.
What about noise isolation and sound? Did you notice any difference?
Grey tips is more rounded and softer sound than clear tips. Noise isolation is depends on ear canalWhat about noise isolation and sound? Did you notice any difference?

I've recently revisited my Ety's (thanks to reading this thread!) and have been using the Westone star tips. I've got to say, having almost exclusively used foam with them until now, the Star tips have won me over on 3 counts (all subjective):
1) comfort - being slightly less intrusive, I've found I can wear these for 5+ hours with no issues
2) sound - I was worried that without foam, I'd lose some of the bass, but this has proven a non-issue.
3) isolation - they're actually pretty good with a still more than average tip insertion depth (compared to regular tips)
I've paired them up with the fiio utws3 (using 2-pin to mmcx adapter) and they are now my go to iems for daily listening.

Only got a ER3XR since my ER4XR(used) failed on one unit, But notice a difference with 4XR, 4SR, 3XR through EQ'ing my ER3XR
ER3XR bass: Gets quite muddy and congested okay for some music, Pretty much the ER2XR lite.
ER4XR bass: Best of the XR line up but still some slight bloat in the upper bass(125 ~ 250Hz), Fine for casual use.
ER4SR/ER4S bass : Zero bloat or any congestion, Actually helps to unmask hidden details lost on the ER3XR. Listening to The Rita's - Cadborosaurus, Way easier to enjoy since the song already really bass boosted. The ER4SR still sounds much warmer than any open back headphone on par with a planar headphone with flat line from 1KHz to 10Hz.
Might get a ER4SR sometime later since It seems my ears love flat bass than bass boosted ones, The decay & detail from the BA driver really shines through even on the ER3.

Those gray ER-18 tips are "universal" sized because they are graduated as you insert them. They are very soft rubbery. The clear tri-tips are a bit smaller, a bit stiffer and if I recall have a slightly shorter nozzle length.is this smaller than large triple flange/regular grey tips?
