If you could see one musical act (dead or alive) who would it be?

Band I'd most like to have seen would be the original incarnation of King Crimson in '69. I've heard the live recordings and they were magic.

Best Shows:

Tool, 9/9/2001
King Crimson at Poplar Creek near Chicago sometime in the '80's (I'm an old guy and the memory is going

)
John Cale solo at Park West on a snowy night in like '98
Rocket From the Tombs in 2003
Iggy Pop on The Idiot tour with Bowie playing keyboards (Trivia - Blondie opened and half the crowd went to the lobby they sounded so bad - I think they got better later)
Both of the most recent Chicago Lyric Opera Ring Cycles.

Meyerbeer's Le Prophete sounds like a hoot.

Maybe Art Tatum.

-Soundgarden in '89 at 4808 in Charlotte, NC
-NIN in '89 opening for J&MChain at The Pteredactyl in Charlotte.
-Robert Fripp and the Leauge of Crafty Guitarists in a little chapel on Georgetown Campus in '95
-Tori Amos in Baltimore in '94
-Orbital at 'new' 9:30 in '97

Most upset I never got to see Nirvana.

The Beatles first then The Doors and then Dylan (while he was still worth seeing). I would have also loved to have seen a lot of the great singers, especially Frank Sinatra, Sarah Vaughn and Eva Cassiday.

Maybe Nirvana or Hendrix would be my top choice.

I would say Rage Against the Machine but I think it's possible that they will get together and do some reunion tour maybe so I won't list them.
