If you could see one musical act (dead or alive) who would it be?

Tool and Bjork. Pavarotti singing at his prime, The Nocturnes played by Chopin himself, and Litsz playing some of his crazy stuff himself.

Foo Fighters are actually coming to Venezuela, might have a chance to see them live!

I hope you picked up the recent release of the live show of Monk/Coltrane.

I would add Coltrane and Dolphy at the Village Vanguard in November 1961 to my wish list.

I would kill to see QOTSA live. I've been wanting to check out OK Go, also.

And Led Zeppelin....
I would have loved to have seen Santana in the early '70s.

I could've killed myself for missing QOTSA last week.

I have re-thought the original question in the thread:

"If you could see one musical act (dead or alive) who would it be?".

I have decided that it was a trick question, in that we are asked to decide whether we would want to see a particular musical act dead or alive. I, for one, do not think I would enjoy a concert dead, so I would have to choose "alive".

Am I over-thinking this? Who's on first?

So many people I would love to have seen play it's hard to choose and would depend on my mood: Probably either Miles Davis around the time of Kind of Blue or Discipline era King Crimson would pop up quite often.

Some great shows I've seen in no particular order:

Frank Zappa at the Fox in Atlanta around 1981. Zappa and Steve Vai ripping "Whipping Post" as a final encore was mind blowing.

Echo and the Bunnymen at the Fox in Atlanta mid-eighties. It was a "make-up" show after Ian McCullough collapsed one song into the original show.

REM at the Moonshadow in Atlanta early eighties - great to see them before they broke out big.

Fishbone at the Roxy in Atlanta sometime around 1990. Hottest show I've ever seen - literally and figuratively.

Peter Gabriel, I've seen him a couple times in Atlanta. He's phenomenal and Tony Levin/David Rhodes/Gabriel seem telepathically linked they're so tight on stage.

Two shows I regret missing, Clash in 1981-82 timeframe in Atlanta - I turned down a ticket

Red Hot Chili Peppers/Fishbone show at Metroplex in Atlanta.
