So, after my Shure 420s started to break on me, I've sent them back to Shure, and they are replacing them. I plan on selling these off, and buying some nice new headphones with the money.
 
I'm very much a Hip-Hop head (Roots, Wu-Tang, NWA) so quite bass heavy - but no so heavy that it drowns out everything else.
 
I have been browsing for a very long time, but nothing seems to signifigantly stand out - any ideas guys?

TF10 , monster pro golds/copper, klipsch custom 3 , all good for bass in that price range

well, id say se530,
 
but in the uk IE7 is a good option too and cheap.  i would have said the IE8 too if you want heavy bass but it may be too much for you if the 420 wasnt far to little
