The T3 is very good, it pairs up very nicely with Etymotic ER-4P's. With my little Sony S639, ER4's and the T3, it makes for a very satisfying ultra portable rig. When i compared the T4 to T3, i found the T3 to be a different animal totally, as jam has commented, great bass, good battery life, great for the price.

It is the architecture of the ground channel. An opamp isolates the ground channel to avoid power supply artifacts from contaminating the music. 1 opamp for 3 channel, 2 opamps for 4 channel.

3 or 4 channel has nothing to do with the number of outputs, as in surround sound, but is simply a method of producing a higher quality of audio.

Having owned both the T4 and currently the T3, I find very little similarity between the two other than the case.

The T3 has 4 gain settings which allows one to really fine-tune the output to their phones, regardless of efficiency.

The sound of the T3 is difficult to describe. While superbly balanced throughout the audio frequency range, it is the ability of the T3 to accurately resolve complex harmonics that is most impressive to me. As an example, instruments such as oboe, bagpipe, etc sound incredibly lifelike.

I continue to me amazed at the level of performance possible from an amplifier that is only slightly larger than an aspirin tin!
The overall performance of the T3 certainly belies its size as well as cost.

There is no question in my mind that the T3 represents the best performance for the least money of anything currently available. Performance wise, it would still be a bargain at twice the cost!

I was curious if this (T3) still has issues with the iPhone. I realize all amps are susceptible to the iPhones frequency interference but wasn't the T4 particularly bad?

i'm willing to spend for an RSA Shadow, but if i can get close to that quality in the T3 form factor for a fraction of the price... well...

i'll try to hold off for Skylab's impressions/rankings as well!

I don't have iPhone but my environment is surrounded with iPhone owner (rich NYU kids and wealthy Apple worshipers ) no problem with RF interference at all. all I need is someone lend me an iPhone to connect it to my T3

I'm not sure what other amps feature a digital volume control. The FiiO E5 does (if that's worth mentioning).
