I tried Fiio F9 pro is pretty good. sounds full, good bass, triple driver, 1 dynamic + 2 BA ( Knowles ).
Just wondering how does IT01 matches with FiiO

I wrote a bit about the comparison in my official F9Pro review. Do you have any further questions I can help you with?

https://audiophile-heaven.blogspot.ro/2018/03/fiio-f9-pro-harder-better-faster-fiio.html

FiiO F9Pro vs iBasso IT01 - iBasso IT01 probably F9Pro's largest competitor, as it is considerably less expensive, but comes with a set of really interesting abilities. Starting with the bottom end, IT-01 has a similar amount of sub-bass, but much more mid-bass, even after proper burn-in. This results in a rather different presentation, where F9Pro comes with a punchier bass, with more tactile feeling, but IT-01 is the more visceral and more obliterating presence in bass. The midrange is similar between the two, even the detail levels being similar, but IT-01 feels more dynamic where F9Pro feels more energetic and vivid rather than dynamic. The treble is an interesting area, as F9Pro and IT-01 both have a nice extension in their treble, and both are V-shaped in their signature. The price is considerably lower with IT-01 and the construction quality is similar, but IT-01 has a cable that looks more serious than F9Pro. IT-01 does not come with a balanced cable in its package though, but it has an amazingly good carrying case. Chosing between the two is very hard, as both have amazing things going on for them, but IT-01 is the more dynamic performer, where F9Pro is more vivid, and IT-01 will have a thicker presentation with more body, where F9Pro will feel less warm and more neutral in comparison.

So I just received the iT01 today and found that one side of the cable is broken, so I can only hear through one of the IEM. Are there any good and cheap alternative cables I could buy? Not sure if I want to ask for a replacement cable since I go it shipped to Canada and paying for overseas shipment again doesn't seem worth it.
Please email me at paul@ibasso.com. Have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting the cables? Also reversing the connection to check the driver.

Considering the great sound and wonderful cable the indicators really do leave much to be desired. Luckily the Tennmak Whirlwind ear tips I use come in 3 assorted colors so I could use those as an indicator.

I just look at the little red dot on the cable connector where it goes into the right earpiece.

As for tips, still very happy with the ones that were on it when they arrived.

I just noticed you have the Aune T1, have you listened to the IT01s with it yet? I want to pick up a tube amp for late night listening in bed and haven't heard any impressions of the IT01s powered by tubes yet.
Firstly, Aune T1 is not tube amp - it is SS DAC with tube buffer and SS amp. Haven`t tried it yet with IT01.
So anybody want to trade me a pair of black it01's for a unopened pair of red and blues?
Why O why? Imho, Red/Blue is much easier to use (despite cable dot indicators being ok) and look also better.

I've owned the IT01 for almost 3 months now, and I can confidently say they're my new $100 recommendation :)

You can imagine my disappointment when the right side suddenly stopped working. Fortunately, I was able to swap out a cheaper MMCX cable to confirm that it was the cable that was defective and not the right IEM. Unfortunately, I really like the stock cable, and I can't seem to find it for sale separately anywhere. If anyone knows where I can track this cable or a similarly built cable down, please let me know.

Thanks in advance!

I have 2 pairs of the blue and red[/QUOTE]

Haha, no wonder. We were all wondering how you had such self-restraint because we would not be able to resist the urge of ripping that sealed plastic wrap apart and trying the suckers!

If you make the trade, you could make two really unique pairs...a red/black and a black/ blue. That would look pretty cool:)

Portico Quartet, the Bad Plus, Snarky Puppy, Anouar Brahem, Renaud Garcia-Fons...and sample ECM Records' YouTube Channel.
portico quartet and snarky puppy are interesting. There others I can't get into. Basically if piano and sax are a large portion of the sound, count me out. Garcia-fons will be interesting as a basis of comparison for headphones, but as far as the music itself goes, isn't exactly up my alley. Thanks for the suggestions, I'm always looking to expand my horizons, especially with well recorded stuff.

This will not be relevant to most people, but I recently got a secondhand Phatlab Phantasy, and while it seems silly to pair the IT01 with a high-impedance OTC tube amp that weighs a pound and a half, it's actually probably my favorite of the amps/sources I've tried so far with this IEM. Dark background, opens up the mids, widens the soundstage noticeably.
