I wouldn't expect the screen to be OLED given the price range of the dap will probably be 3-400.

Personally I can't even see the point in an oled screen. We are talking about a dap and not at videoplayer or games machine. The screen will be turned of most of the time.

I have the Sony A7RII. It is not an inexpensive camera and the rear screen is an LCD. If OLEG, it might be brighter but would just suck more power and not be of any real benefit in the end. In a dap, well, not near as important as what it might be on a camera. My Canon 5DIII has an LCD. It all works out fine. I would prefer more music time than an screen that takes away form that.

A7Rii, nice, you obviously keep up with the latest and greatest camera gear, I"m not so rich, I'll make do with a Samsung NX500, at least it has an amoled screen, yep even better than oled

Um, OLED uses less energy at the same brightness level of an LCD screen cause they're more efficient. So using an OLED screen would actually net you more play time. But in the end you're right, I don't think the price of an OLED screen makes much sense in a dap in this price category.

Less energy from OLED becomes pointless when - like said before - most of the time DAP screen isn`t being used anyway and is turned off.
