That's the best news about the 80 so far.

A dedicated LO would be awesome. Blown my ears out more than once with the DX90's shared HO/LO

Any word on that?

"Line out has a set voltage and is not connected to the headphone out. " directly from iBasso's facebook page.

no more shared HO/LO it seems

They were never shared, both were just controlled by the volume in the dac

Sounds like the volume adjustment process is now either the amplifier's part or there's another element between the DAC and AMP section. Hopefully it will be as fine-grained with 0.5 dB steps just like in the DX90/50.

Hi Thanks, actually, I know this is off topic, but I just found out today that I can jailbreak iPod 5G classic to play any format, I have one that I kept for years stored aside, just finished installing Rockbox few hours ago, and IT SOUNDS AMAZING! specially with the DT 770, it's completely different dimension to the music.

I guess I will keep using the iPod for now until DX80 is out and then I'll check my options, I could end up just upgrading the iPod with a memory card and a new fresh battery, it all depends on how spoiled my taste in sound quality becomes :D

I still think I will go for iBasso if I to get new DAP. Thanks everyone, this forum is full of nice helpful people and I'm grateful.

Pick up a Fiio Alisan. You won't regret it. The 5.5G is great and works well with lower and mid-tier headphones. But it lacks dynamics and upper and lower end refinement and extension compared to the DX90. I did an extensive comparison with my 5.5G, DX90, Fiio E17 and IHIFI 770.

Fiio Alisan???

Alisan, AKA FIIO E01. It's a direct LOD with a built in Texas Instrument chip in it and draws power directly from the iPod's dock connector to power itself. So despite not needing any additional batteries, it's an amplifier. It makes a world of a difference as it bypasses the ****ty on-board amplifier on the iPod as well as the rather poor headphone jack. If you don't have one yet, than get one. Worth every penny and it isn't even expensive.
