iBasso DX80 Bug Thread - Post Any Firmware Bugs/Issues Here

Feb 5, 2017 at 5:01 PM Post #1,397 of 1,489
I want to try using the Factory Tool again and see if it fixes my issue with high res file playback, however I have a problem. When I plug in my DX80, whether it is in recovery mode or Card Reader mode, it shows up in device manager under USB devices as "rk312x", uninstalling the device does not fix this and it does not show up as a misc device. Attempts to manually install the driver per the instructions with the factory tool do not work because Windows 10 simply tells me that the best device driver is already installed and closes. When I try to use the factory tool the iBasso DX80 shows up as ADB and the factory tool will not run. I have no idea how to force the factory tool to run and feel like I've tried everything, I am, again, incredibly frustrated.

sometimes you need to run the factory tool 2 or 3 times
You do have to be very careful in reading the instructions! Sometimes it works [1st time], sometimes not
On my 2nd try it worked
Keep at it!

I've tried it repeatedly. The iBasso only shows up as "ADB". I've gotten it to work before but not since the very first time I tried it, and Windows 10 absolutely will not let me reinstall the driver.

You can stop this win10 driver behaviour by adjusting the bios but that is above my pay grade!
google lit?

Turn DX80 off, press and hold Vol+, then attach to USB cable. Don't turn it on yourself!

I just ordered a brand new Samsung Evo Plus 256GB UHS-I Type 3 class 10 card which is much faster than my older cards. I will let you know if that makes any difference after it arrives. It was enormously expensive so I really hope it does.

To clarify, my theory was that my old cards' read speeds were too slow which was why I was having stuttering issues with high res files specifically, and more sever problems the higher the bitrate. If so the new much faster cards should be fine, and give me some much needed extra space.

When I put one of those in my DX80 it said it couldn't read it.

It's arriving tomorrow, that's really not encouraging. DX80 is supposed to support cards in that capacity range, I checked with Paul. He said he personally has used one of those cards successfully in fact. We will see.

I used an equally fast 128GB card today and early results are good, I really need the actual capacity increase though.

I use a 256gb in mine with zero issues and it is totally full.

That is great news! Makes sense since Paul from iBasso said he uses the exact card I purchased with no problems. For my ears and budget the DX80 does 100% of what I need. If this card works properly for playback of 24/192 FLAC files then I will be completely satisfied. The only feature it lacks that I might enjoy is a balanced output, and it's not worth the cost of a DX200 for that feature. Maybe when they start to become available used, we will see.

Yep, after reading about the 256 enough times, I figured, just get it. I like the speed for loading songs, actually it surprised me because it is faster than my 128gb and works without a problem for me.
