@Yoones - You need to use this now - should sort out the issues you are having:

Batch Tool to use if you are having any difficulty with the FW update. It wipes the internal memory and installs a clean FW update but there are a few more steps but it is great if something gets messed up: http://www.ibasso.com/uploadfiles/20151210/201512100333294318.rar
You can download a .rar app for free to unzip the .rar. There are instruction with the download on how to install on a Microsoft OS computer. It can also be used on the DX50 and DX90 to load FW's.

Hi Jon,
thanks but I don't have issue with FW update, I use 1.4.2.
unless I'm missing something I don't understand why should I update again.

There is something unique about the process of using the batch tool that sorts these kind of issues out
Using it sorted out all my issues, including the same ones you mentioned :)

well, this last hour I removed all *.cue and *.m3u files from my cards, and scanned again after a factory reset, 1st card was fine, the 2nd crashed at 57%
leaves it with a total of 16782 songs recognized...

so I just performed the FW update using the batch tool, now scanning cards, this process is so slow. hope I won't have to go throught that everytime I want to add some news tracks...
well actually I simply hope I'll make it work.

the thing is I don't even care about the database being built, I choose my music browsing in directory... but that perpetual scanning is stopping me from using it this way.

I just ran a rescan on my card in slot 2 - 115 GB of music 24/96 and 16/44 Flac - Took 6.3 minutes
It may take longer for a 1st scan? but that should give you a benchmark to judge if your unit is too slow

oh and out of curiosity, how many files do you have Jon?

2x card 128GB each
card 1 is DSD / 24/96 Hi Res
card 2 is 24/96 Hi Res and CD Flac
so ermm  a LOT ! :)

I have used the batch tool, and updated with FW1.4.2 ;
SD1 scannd properly and SD2 crashed.
I have now 16726 songs recognized. out of  23K

when I try to play a song from directory which is not included in the database, it scans the folder but then is unable to play it. this is not related to the file itself since if I choose to scan card2 in the first place, I would be able to play those songs, but other albums from SD1 would be missing... etc

but how many songs do you see in your database? go to "all music" and scroll down.
I have 4K Flac, 19K mp3 and like 5 DSD albums (did not include them yet in the cards) so I guess your ammount is <13K songs

I want to know if any users have managed to have more than 20k files in their player.

I have used the batch tool to revert firmware to 1.3.3

I've tried to use scan SD1 and 2, and it got stuck on 100% after 1hour and a half scanning.
when I went into the library, only 9K files were detected, means only SD1 has been scanned.
I have launched a rescan of SD2.
the scan took more than an hour and probably stopped before finishing (I saw it reach 70% tho)

player's behaviour is not the best, as it is very slow when going into all music, but this time I managed to have 20980 tracks ;
however it is still not complete, it seems like it misses the first folders of SD2 card.
also in 1.3.3 it seems like vorbis comment are working fine.
I'll see if scanning manually each missing folder is gonna help and last...

it's such unpleasant to have to go through all this, I did not expect to have a player with a beta OS :(

scanning manually is not working, the player is not stable, it crashes and only SD1 stays in the library/database,
everyfolder from SD2 have to be rescanned.

I think I gave enough time testing, I hope a new firmware arrives soon...

Why so many files? I have over 20 cards and everything scans fine with a few null files but then I don't have 20,000 plus files that I am trying to load.

We have a DX80 with over 30,000 files loaded. It works and scans without issue. If a scan does not complete then there is normally an error on a file that disrupts the scanning. We will continue to work on the scanning to make it as seamless as possible.

I have tried to narrow down to a potential file with issue, but couldn't.
as I said, I removed ogg files, cue files, m3u files ... leaving he cards with properly tagged files, still I cannot complete scans.
if a file would cause the stop, then I wouldn't be able to go through a complete scan on either cards.

as I said, from a clean factory reset, if I chose to scan SD1 first, it will complete ; and SD2 will not be able to complete after.
then if I perform another factory reset, and chose to scan SD2 first, it will complete as well, but it will be SD1 which will have issue with the scan.

average scan on either of the card is more than an hour, does it seem normal to you Paul? whenever I rescan them, it takes the same ammount of time.
do you recommend exfat of Fat32? is there a way to cancel scanning? I really don't have to go through the database, directory would be more than fine for me, but I need to be able to play a track after another without waiting for a scan each time I want to play a new song. :(

because I have many tracks and can't bother pick which one I'm gonna listen to each time I go travelling.
I chose this player because of its capacity, I wouldn't bother with dual SDXC up to 4Tb if it wasn't to store all my music and have it ready to play when I'm on the road.
DX90 was lacking space regarding the non avalaibility (and price) of 256Gb µSD.

I suggest you guys re-flashing fw using batch tool and delete some audio_data folder inside your memory card (by card reader feature) and then manually factory reset again your dx80

did it at least 5 times, even reformatted the card and copied again 200Gb of data on them... you can guess I have spent the last days copying, scanning, flashing etc ....
