If I can find one in the US in the next few weeks I may just make that purchase.I'd say go for Monarch if fit is not an issue since it's an all-rounder in performance. I don't know about Audeze, but it will in my opinion be a significant upgrade to the M7. I never tried the Angie so I don't know about that one either.

Yeah I know it's tricky since Monarch is always out of stock. If I can find one in the US in the next few weeks I may just make that purchase.
The case on the player seems to fit nice and tight. However I do have a silicone case on the way as per recommendation from the group. Loving this thing

Hi all, I've searched a bit, but not really come with any conclusion on how this sounds with the IER-Z1R. Thanks!

Selling mine in case anyone is interested: iBasso DX300 with TPU Case
Loved it, but couldn’t figure out how to make it work into my life. Too big for casual use with my IE800S and not enough for my LCD-3. I’ve switched over to a Fiio M6 as a source to an iFi Diablo. Don’t need the Diablo for the IEM, but use it with the LCD-3. Size together is the same as DX300 - albeit the Fiio is not a great user experience.

Battery life is excellent on the DX300 - just interesting that we have to consider both of the batteries that are in it

Yeah that one feels like forever for it to be out of juice lol
With the burning cable streaming 44.1 material at 35 vol low gain I get about 13 hours.
Using the DX300 with my Obravo Ra-C-Cu 21- sounds awesome right out of the box!
I am glad that I don't have a second unit with a defective volume wheel- phew! I am rather surprised that there is no system-wide dark theme. The white is painful at night.
Not to mention that a dark theme would save quite a lot of battery.
@Paul - iBasso any chance this is being worked on?

I think a dark theme would only save battery life if the display was OLED, it is "LTPS IPS"
