Question: Just received the DX300, but it won't turn on no matter how long I press the volume button, now I've put it on charging for more an half hour, it still won't turn on. Any tips? Do I have to wait it to be fully charged?

Yeah, does not seem like a working unit. It should be charging itself from depleted for about 5 minutes and then you will get the LED bar indicator, and you will be able to turn it on

Try a different USB see cable and make sure you have a good charger. I use a PD charger when is 40 W the other is 90 W.

Tried couple different cables, quick charger or normal charger, nothing changes. LED? what LED? :worried:
Try your computer. Leave it plugged in for a while. What wattage are the chargers you are using?

Just plugged it into my computer, will see what will happen. I use 18w charger.
I would also try a higher wattage charger than 18 watts. I use a 40 and a 90 watt and they do a good job. Anker and the 90watt is a Ravpower.

I'm in love with this combo. My M15 is excellent too, very fun with more body in the bass and mids, but sometimes is too much bass with the T1 3rd, the DX300 have more control, more air and the highs are more natural and pleasant but with good detail too.

I have both. Dx300 with 130 hours of burnin has more body than m15 and extra dBs of mid bass gain. And m15 with 100 hours of burnin does not have extra bass gain, it is linear!! The bass is due to your t1 3er gen.

Thank you, this is what I am hearing too, not compared to M15 but I have not heard anything to have the body density and mid bass that the dx300 offers ATM

I went for a Shanling M8 for a number of reasons but apart from the obvious high quality sound and construction, the main 2 were -

It is a full MQA decoder and not just a MQA renderer.

It has the phones port on the top of the player whilst having the USB-C port on the bottom. I prefer this layout because it gives you the ability to dock the player in a stand/dock whilst charging and listening at the same time.

Oh plus - It doesn't have the stupid volume/power button issue hopefully :deadhorse:

That the volume pot and the outputs are on the same side is also a huge plus for me, that is why I liked the M15 (I still have the docker for it). They both have a similar design, M8 and M15. Congrats on your new DAP!

Gotta love those TPU cases from ali. One step away from being perfect. But it's so much more useful than the included one this small nitpick hardly matters.

Aren't the M15, R8, R6 2020, M8, DX300, N6ii all MQA decoders of tidal content?
