Can uapp unfold the MQA files?
UAPP at the moment (ver. 5.9.5) only has preliminary support for the DX300.

MQA decode is not yet working, you can see the bitrate is 44.1kHz or 48kHz at the top of the screen.
Also, the round MQA 'LED' indicator next to the MQA logo above the track timeline is missing during playback.

Use Android Mango app or Tidal app for MQA for now...

I had been using the DX300 as a media player for nearly a week.

Now back to some music today. Good to take a break and reset the brain ( i did listen to music via my home system).

*Pure Mango side:
the filters paired with the gain settings offer enough variations to please it seems. 1,2,3 & nos mainly for me.

As time goes on i have begun to appreciate the sonic variations the dx300 offers via the filters.
Dependant on music played of course
Filter 1 : a bit more detail and clarity
Filter 2: a bit more body
Filter 3 : almost tube like naturalness

nos- more straight froward purity neutral.

But within this is a forgiving amp and a colored naturalness.

I look forward to see what future amp modules bring.

more height and depth to the soundstage, rather than just oodles of width (i know this is the earphones area but the amp seems to limit it- for earphones i am familiar with).
More details, resolving, more layering and a slight timbre tweak.
- but this is a stock amp, a everyone wins amp module. So i look forward to future more specialist releases.

It may seem micro nitpicking. But i am enjoying the dap and do not have any real complaints. More personal sonic wishes for the future.

Season three of American Gods awaits. Not enjoying it as much as season 1....but gotta complete it.

Solitaire P pairing of DX300 is really good. I find the D9200 and D8000 Pro pairings a bit much in the upper mids and treble. But something I like with DX300 is the very good bass mids transition. The tuning there is excellent gives a very good clarity and separation feeling. And than a bit of raised bass makes it enjoyable. From subbass until upper mids is a superb tuning. I don't find the mids thick or thin. Maybe in side by side comparisons there might be differences, but alone it does not stick out with any "I wish it was different" feeling for me. From the upper mids on it is a pairing question - you may or may not like it. I actually find the NOS mode with 384 kHz conversion (replace it with upper or over sampling terms - of your choice) great with Solitaire.

I've had the DX300 for almost a week now and would agree with @twister6 about the volume wheel. I think it's quite a good feature. I wasn't sure before but actually like it, it's nicely placed and helps with one handed control with it being such a big unit.

Been burning in my DX300 every time I had a chance, and this thing is sounding SO GOOD. Really a satisfying portable audio purchase for me. Combined with my Campfire Audio ARA with a balanced Super Smoky Litz cable and the TPU case, I’m a happy, happy listener.

One quick question... Has this new iBasso dap a friendly battery replacement as previous models? Thank you all!

Line Out and Phones Out. There has been some debate on whether it actually does anything though.
A line out is not supposed to drive a low impedance load, whereas a phone out is, so there is the amplifier in the chain which effects the sound - not just as a signature but also in dynamics and speed. When you connect the phones out to your amplifier (supposing the rest of the parameters like voltage, current etc. and their effects are OK), you are limiting for example, the speed to the speed of the DAP amplifier, although your external amplifier most probably performs better. A miniature internal amplifier will never catch a real amplifier with space (larger caps, discrete components etc. etc.), but by using the phones out you are feeding your external amplifier a signal which is passing through a hand-brake.
