The only problem I found with DSF files is that the player cannot read the "Year" tags compared to Flacs.

For me it does that, all my music is tagged with MusicBrainz Picard.

Would be great if iBasso launched an amp with a brighter, dynamic signature because it seems the dx300 sounds warm with all current amps.

Yes sure for that i wait too. I hope there have this idea. Even if its 100 Dollar more expensive i will buy!!!

I still cant believe how natural and realistic the sound of the dx300 is. And whats even more important- seems like they didnt go short way, just smoothing the edges or boosting mid bass. Its really advanced tuning, for me quite complex because it has a very true signature.

Line-out of AMP12 (meaning DAC section of DX300) is exceptionally good! Today I tried connecting to T+A HA200 XLR input and compared especially the DAC sections. HA200's DAC section (with advanced oversampling DSP etc.) has a larger and deeper stage with more details, but the difference is not huge, at least has nothing to do with the 7X the price difference. Wow!

It came with amp 11 Mk1. I will first spend some time with that before I try amp 12.

- is there a 'default' filter? It was set at D4.
- in the R8 there's a setting for left/right balance. No such thing on this?

Sure there is a setting for L and R. You have to go into the Gear on the upper right. You can turn the balance on and off and when on, set it to what you need.

The default is whatever you chose to set it to--I know, not much of an answer--reading through the thread there does not seem to be agreement on a best filter--it is very subjective--Myself, 5.

Thx. I see there's a proper manual for this device, unlike the R8, so I'll be all set!

EDIT: I spent the evening listening to the DX300 with the Fourte and the Traillii. I don't think I have heard much better than this... Crystal clear.. wow. I can't imagine amp 12 being any better than this...
