Updated to. Audio/video sync issues are indeed gone on any video player app i tried.
Got to love there fast support. I reported the issue to Paul 30 january. Thursday 4 Paul replied it would be fixed in a coming firmware update.
I taught ok there will be a fix in a month or so but here they are 3 days later with a fix.

Maybe i missed it but is tere a way to flip the screen 180 degree?

Yes, go to settings /display, but this will allow 90 degrees only 😉

Than i have another feature request :) Sometimes i like to hold it in portrait mode on my lap but then the cables are in the way at the buttom.
I agree with that use case.
Just wondering after trying my iPhone 11 Pro: even there only 90 degrees work...

It's really nice to see ibasso coming out with the frequent firmware updates to correct bugs and add features. The d300 is my first ibasso product and already they are putting out updates at a much faster clip than Astell & Kern (I'm coming from an sp1000m, which even when new had updates relatively infrequently.

Very glad to see the update address the amazon HD issue of seemingly playing everything at 48khz. However, it still seems like it may not be 100% sorted. Now the nitrate indicator in the menu bar at the top left of the screen shows 192khz (the highest bitrate offered) for any song played regardless of whether of not the file is actually a 192khz file (some ultra hd 24bit files are 192khz so then it is the actual bitrate, others are 96khz or 44.1khz, and non ultra HD songs are 16bit/44.1khz or lower for SD). Not sure whether the dap is now upsampling everything to 192khz or if they are actually playing bitperfect and this is just an indication that the dap supports the max bitrate. In tidal the bitrate indicator changes for whatever the song bitrate is. In the Amazon HD app, if you click on the file quality, it recognizes that the dap can play 192khz as before and says that the song is being played at the bitrate of the file, its just that that does not match the indicator at the top of the screen. Thoughts? I guess I'd rather up sampling than playing at a lower bitrate, but the ideal would be playing everything at native bitrate.
Yes, I have asked myself the same question on DX220 Max.
Now DX300 behavior in that regard seems to be identical with DX220 (max).
I wouldn't mind if it did up sampling but would be indeed good to know what is really happening.
@Lurker0
Do you maybe know what is internally happening?

@Paul - iBasso

I wondered if your fine self or any other fine community member could shed some light on the following about the DX300.

Is the DX300 capable of MQA decoding the full 3 levels MQA require using its hardware? i.e. is the DX300 an full on hardware MQA decoder.

OR

Is the DX300 only capable of doing the first unfold in hardware and thereby only doing MQA rendering? i.e. the remaining unfolds are happening in software?

The reason for the question is to assist with the purchase of another DAC/AMP?

If the DX300 is doing full hardware MQA decoding then I only need an additional AMP to link with my DX300 and send the decoded stream to the AMP via S/PDIF.

If the DX300 is only doing rendering is it possible to bypass the DX300 rendering (i.e. to use the DX300 as a player/transport) and send unencoded streams via the S/PDIF to an external MQA decoder/AMP so the external device can do the full hardware unfolding?

Thanks in advance.

Someone asked about dx300 and headphones- my Utopias are driven pretty well at near max volume on medium gain.

High gain is even better with no noticeable distortion. Great pairing- not as good as the Focal Arche but perfectly fine for a DAP.

Photos of the case not fitting the DAP too well and being rather loose, rather than snug. I fully expect that ibasso will be providing free of charge swaps/replacements!

You prefer high to medium, and medium to low?
