I don't think it will last more then 7 to 8 hours from full charge, which is the norm for this kind of dap

Those 4499 are desktop dac level chips, not the energy saving portable chips, like the cirrus type in the current DX300.

Agreed, and the 4499 is only less energy consumption than the arch rivals 9038pro LOL.

The citrus chips in DX300 is also desktop level chips. The only exception is that Cirrus technologies are less power demanding, and is actually very efficient VS others

220MAX is with ES9028PRO which are also desktop level, plus they are 8 channel DACs, and 4499s are 4 channel DACs. Still, as far as I remember they are both rated at around 500 mW, so probably we won't see a big drop from 220MAX up time.

Actually I can agree it's not necessary.. ibasso probably already tried all the chips in existence already. I would assume all thier choices are already optimal.

….What if the chips were intended for the DX300….but they only bought an initial 500….then the akm factory had a fire…then they used cirrus potato chips….then why not use em for a new Maxxx….then….

It is possible but then again, unlikely.
Suppose they find themselves in the fabulous situation that the player has much higher demand than they expected. They won't be able to produce, and hence, to sell, enough to meet demand. There is no reason for going with a chip that is not currently in production unless you have some stock and need to put it to good use.
Please don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the 4499, quite the contrary.
