It is possible but then again, unlikely.
Suppose they find themselves in the fabulous situation that the player has much higher demand than they expected. They won't be able to produce, and hence, to sell, enough to meet demand. There is no reason for going with a chip that is not currently in production unless you have some stock and need to put it to good use.
Please don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the 4499, quite the contrary.

Actually it seems the dx300 came out a month before the factory accident, so timeline not work.

My other point is that ibasso is not stuck, as they could continue with future version having a different chip, if they choose in future.

Technology is a never ending, new, "best thing" coming out in perpetuity,
So there will always be a new toy every few years...
