To best benefit from these new modern built. You should try to maximize it out by using Neutron with these settings

3Max can do 8X and up from 768Khz which is 16X from Nyquist Theory!!! With Ultimate mode, and now you are talking

The most advanced yet!!!
Will try this Sir! Thanks

Any more impressions of the 3MAX Stainless Steel? Most units should already completed the 200 hrs burn in period by now.

So do I set neutron play at 4x or 8x oversampling from the conclusion earlier?

Any considerable upside amping out to the C9? Apart from the different timbre for personal preferences, that is.
Not really beyond having a huge stack and heat from the C9.

The 3MAX AMP is more than adequate on its own and I quite fond of its default signature. The two C9 timbres didn't affect the sound but I did notice a reduction and smoothing of the bass and sub-bass.

It's truly making me reconsider holding on to the C9 and DX311Mk2/DX312.

Yeah, taking nothing away from the C9, which on paper looks really good, but for me, the accretive value from the sound point of view (or view point of sound?) just didn't justify the size and weight. At its footprint, I'd expect it to be knocking it out of the park with everything plugged into it! Well, within the portable realm, that is.

Been steadily burning in my unit. I have been just using it. So the sound does change I remember reading a post from someone here that said the 3Max sounded bright to them. My unit don't sound bright, it kinda did at first but I don't hear the sound being bright. Its got great clarity but not bright. I also notice folks not mentioning too much in the way of how the mids play. Mids get fuller more nuanced after burn in. It seems to be the last aspect of the sound that forms.

Of course the bass end is excellent on the 3Max, by far the best bass presentation I have heard on a dap.

I have been using some of my best IEMs for the 3Max and the sound fills out nicely and I still feel it could use some more time. I have done about 10 battery recharges thus far and so far so good. SS owners I feel got a good deal for these. I would have considered a Ti version if I would have known about it before going all in on the SS.

But there will probably be a 4Max next year or whatever new they create. IBasso and folks that make these devices wont make any more money if they don't provide newer better stuff. So for folks that feel they missed out on either of these devices. There will always be better, you can count on that.

The thing is that we are living in the now…who knows what happen tomorrow ? If we are blessed enough to get there, good, draw up a plan. If not, do your best for Now, and enjoying the present to it fullest

Hi guys, I am planning to buy a used Focal Utopia. Will it have a good synergy with the DX300 Max?
Yes, no metallic playback glare from the Utopia off my Dx300max.

But I also use my EQ.

<preset id="1" name="Focal Utopia" desc="Harman with treble altered" bind="0" lock="3" preamp="-7.699996">
<band type="PEAKEQ" gain="7.3" freq="14" Q="0.69" />
<band type="PEAKEQ" gain="2.799998" freq="40" Q="0.559997" />
<band type="PEAKEQ" gain="-1.9" freq="141" Q="0.88" />
<band type="PEAKEQ" gain="1.1" freq="637" Q="0.9" />
<band type="PEAKEQ" gain="-5" freq="1549" Q="0.639998" />
<band type="PEAKEQ" gain="2.099997" freq="1703" Q="3.74" />
<band type="PEAKEQ" gain="6.199996" freq="2027" Q="2.299998" />
<band type="PEAKEQ" gain="-7.5" freq="5862" Q="7.389997" />
<band type="PEAKEQ" gain="-3.799998" freq="6157" Q="2.45" />
<band type="PEAKEQ" gain="4.9" freq="6541" Q="3.46" />
<band type="PEAKEQ" gain="4.8" freq="7038" Q="1.5" />
<band type="PEAKEQ" gain="2.599997" freq="10874" Q="2.7" />

As we are talking about EQing, here is some information fro the newcomers. You may find the information insufficient, or the wording not good, but it is a good place to start. Here we go...

Also, if you would like to EQ, for example according to Harman target, here you can find PEQ settings for many headphones. I would take them as templates, rather than exact hard set values. For example, for Kennerton Thekk, I use one third of the gain values.

Let's take an example, Kennerton Vali:
