As we are talking about EQing, here is some information fro the newcomers. You may find the information insufficient, or the wording not good, but it is a good place to start. Here we go...

Also, if you would like to EQ, for example according to Harman target, here you can find PEQ settings for many headphones. I would take them as templates, rather than exact hard set values. For example, for Kennerton Thekk, I use one third of the gain values.

Let's take an example, Kennerton Vali:

Guys I tried USB DAC mode again. It works by not plugging the usb before switching to usb dac mode. But the problem is after you exit, twice I lost the sound from the right earphone and had to restart the unit twice to get it back. And one instance is after exiting USB dac mode, it won't output music aside from hissing and crackling.

I remember a similar issue back in DX220 days, but don't remember the exact scenario.

Sorry, but i cannot confirm that behavior with my macbook. Tried all combination (first switch on DAC then connect, or connect and afterwards switch to DAC mode, then switching on DAC while playing music with Mango, then with NMP, with UAPP, etc different interruption of playing music by switching to DAC mode) works just fine. Could that problem be connected only to using Windows-based PC?

Maybe macOS requires a driver's installation for XMOS?

wait does this dap use an XMOS chip like the 220 daps?

Upto your source files. If you have 44.1 -48 then 16x for 3Max, and slide it accordingly to scale
I bought Neutron yesterday and it is indeed a really great player after I applied your recommended settings. A bit fuller sounding than pure Mango OS but still clear and detailed. I applied 16 x oversampling.

The thing I don’t understand is when oversampling 24/192, the DAP output is 705,6 kHz like it’s a 44,1 multiple instead of 768 kHz a multiple of 48 kHz. When I play a 24/96 track, it shows the correct 768 kHz frequency.

Do you have an idea of what is wrong?

Do share your experience after. :)
Wow! OK. Now I thought Mango was pretty good.. but this Neutron player is brilliant especially with Whitigir's settings! Compared to Mango... which is great.... there is much more transparency and separation of instruments together with sounding more true. Bass, Sub Bass, Treble and Vocals are spot on. Will continue listening and comparing. Until Ti is delivered in a few days time. Then it starts all over again. 🎧

Only apply 16X, the maximized OS on files of Nyquist standard or Redbook 44.1 to 48

Anything higher than this will meet with truncation (in a sense, a degradations to properly achieve mathematical models)

I recommend 192 will be maxed out at 4x . Give that a try and see if 768Khz shows

The effects is further strengthened with MicronSD or Sandisk MicroSD

This is the proofs of how important digital bit accuracy and error corrections algorithms is in places for our hobby

Enjoy your new found advanced player

Hey Lappy27! What a coincidence we're both playing Diana Krall after setting up Neutron! 🤣
