I had the dx160, loved its sound, appearance, and interface, but returned it, because of its inability to reliably connect to WiFi.

I got the Sony ZX-507 and found it has sound not as exciting as the dx160. It cost twice as much, is about half the screen size, and is slow to boot up, yet consumes battery fast if you just put it in sleep mode to avoid reboots.

However, the Sony is super reliable in staying connected to WiFi. It runs Tidal and Apple Music like a champ.

I hope to return to iBasso via the dx300, but was super disappointed in the lack of support, not even instructions, with the dx160.

There is a downloadable manual at iBasso. Easy to find and use for the DX160. The DX300 has better wifi and BT than my iPhone 11Pro, which is very good.

Heck, the DX300 is one of the few android that has MIMO, which is pretty expensive to implement.

The price for the DX300 is already a house number. 400 € is not be chickenfeed, but this is where my understanding of the called price ends. Unfortunately, the DX160 is out of stock (or no longer being built?).

My DX160 has been sat in a drawer for months as i got fed up with the battery draining overnight when it was left connected to Wifi.

Did this issue ever get resolved so the unit could properly enter deep sleep?
Easy, turn it off when not in use. One of the best sounding daps around.

I second this !!! And only wished that Ibasso would release a Dx300 Pro version that has OLED screen. Now, that would be amazing

I find mine drains somehow even whilst off, love the sound of it but barely use it these days due to short battery life. Use the M3X mainly now.
Then get the battery replaced.

Tbh the battery life is poor even from new. M3X is comparable sound wise to me and battery about 3 times longer.
Depends on your definition of poor IMO. To me 9 hours or so, is pretty darned good for such a powerful DAP. The M3X can't come close to the to the power output of the DX160, so I am not surprised it has much better battery life. But, if you like it better, then it is all good. As for me, the DX160 is one helluva' machine, even with its flaws.
