Curious about this DAP and its output at 32 ohms... the main reason I ask is the review from headphonics this comment:

"What we do know is that the Vrms correctly translates to 34mW unbalanced and 136mW balanced into a 300Ω load. However, their current buffer design means that the standard Vrms/32Ω extrapolation maths is not valid, otherwise, we are talking 1280mW into 32Ω loads balanced. iBasso has confirmed that the standard formula is not applicable here as there is not enough current output to generate that level of power."

Can anyone clarify what the actual power is, both balanced and unbalanced, at 32 ohms? I saw someone claim earlier in this thread that it isn't as powerful as a mojo, yet another one use the above calc... so let's just say I'm rather confused.

Also any reason why it can't simply be used as a Tidal player, just downloading content to that app? Sorry, I've never owned a DAP before and am looking for something powerful enough to power some IER-Z1Rs I just picked up.

I have nothing to back this up, and don't pretend to understand all the ins and outs of the figures published, but on paper it looks very similar to the iFi hip-dac.

iBasso DX160:
3.5mm (SE) 3.2Vrms
4.4mm (balanced) 6.4Vrms

iFi Hip DAC:
3.5mm (SE): 3.2V(@600 Ohm) 280mW@32 Ohm;
4.4mm (balanced): 6.3V(@600 Ohm) 400mW@32 Ohm;

So maybe it's something similar to this. Maybe.:wink:

I have a question. I would like to use a global parametric EQ wich is also effective when using the tidal app. Does anyone know how I could do this? I have lurker installed and therefore, would be UAPP an option?

After installing Lurker's firmware add-on, is there anything I need to do so that my dx160 acts as a USB DAC?

I installed the driver, connect dx160 to my PC, set the USB mode as transferring fuke, then turn on the DAC mode in mango player.
but my windows10 just cannot recognise the device.

I want to pick up a DX160 later.
Any tips about its use?

Why are the DX150 and DX120 the cooler-looking ones? Good grief.

First turn USB DAC mode on, then connect to the PC. If it does not work, try another cable.

Three quick questions, if anyone has time:
1) Does the line out bypass the internal amp?
2) Can I use the dap as a usb-dac from a computer and at the same time use the line out to an external amp?
3) and this is crazy, but I'm curious, can I use the dap as a usb-dac from an android phone and at the same time use the line out to an external amp?
Thanks all!
