Ultra low gain, or a built in impedance adjustment option like IEMatch are both solutions, but both costly, and can’t be added in software as far as I know. So the DX160 is what it is, which - given its high output power, especially in balanced mode - means using it with ultra sensitive IEMs is not a good idea. Add to that the fact that all this power is crammed into a device the size of a deck of cards, and you’re inevitably going to hear hiss or RF interference or processing noise with *some* IEMs some of the time. As above, a $50 IEMatch is a quick and easy solution. As is switching to single ended. As is making sure you keep the dap away from your phone and Wi-Fi router. The DX160 is not the first dap with these so-called ‘issues’ and it won’t be the last.
You want enough power to drive HD800s and also use Andromedas hiss-free? Not really possible without some compromises or add-ons I’m afraid.
