Sounds quite well via Tidal > Focal Clears. Symbols are shining

I'll test is out on r5 for ya :) Or do you just want me to test it out on both Wednesday :wink: I'm sure I've already listened to it and it sounded great. But memory you know....

Anyone figured out if the balanced sounds better? Or what the digital filters are all about. I couldn’t find a manual on Ibasso site

Digital filters just alter the sound characteristics. Best to play with them and find if there is one that sounds best to you.

Here's someone's explanations for the digital filters on the DX220 - sorry, I can't remember who posted this originally - which I think are the same as on the DX160 (please someone correct me if I'm wrong).

Hope this helps. Note that the effects are VERY SUBTLE. This is giving you an idea about what they're doing. There IS an effect, but it's not night and day :)

No, they are completely different. Just like @maira mentioned, they are 2 very different DAC-IC
Its ESS vs. Cirrus ...

For me, with IT04, the outputs are different only by volume level. YMMV, especially with hard to drive headphones.
