Digital filters just alter the sound characteristics. Best to play with them and find if there is one that sounds best to you.

Here's someone's explanations for the digital filters on the DX220 - sorry, I can't remember who posted this originally - which I think are the same as on the DX160 (please someone correct me if I'm wrong).

Hope this helps. Note that the effects are VERY SUBTLE. This is giving you an idea about what they're doing. There IS an effect, but it's not night and day

For me, with IT04, the outputs are different only by volume level. YMMV, especially with hard to drive headphones.

Filters come with the DAC and have nothing to do with Ibasso. Search "Filters" here:
