That's a LOT of DAP for the money. Recently auditioned another premium dap @ usd1,999, the tuning resemblance is very uncanny. maybe a bit refined, sure.
Considering that it is almost 5 x the 160, it should sound better, i could care less about it, since its a native file player only.
But still, this decision rests on you...

Cheers...

I'm not eying those premium DAP. There are few used units (ie: AK series, Opus, Onkyo, qp1r) with advertising price around the same price of a new mid range DAP (ie: DX160, R5, M11). I'm just keeping my options open within this price range.

Playing tidal some songs do not play when i press play button , i have to press play several times to start the song, i think it's always with master quality songs that this happens. This doesn't happen on my phone or the m15 . Does this happen to any of you guys?

Don't have TIDAL Master available at the moment, but a couple of months ago, played well. (I've a 2020 DX160)

I'm not sure if Luker MOD was already installed, if don't have the MOD installed, maybe its an option to solve the issue.

Yup, the SQ of the DX160 is closer to the M11 PRO than the M11. Even more so with mango mode.

Thanks for your input. But that doesn't solve the problem ,does it?f i press a few times it will play eventually. It shouldn't happen in the first place. :)

Is your DX160 up to date with the firmware version in the first post (or via OTA)? I had that issue (may have been related to animated covers?) on the previous firmware version (though I was running the lurker mod). Updating to latest firmware fixed it.

My 2020 version did this one day back in August. * Just bought it in May. I used the Android Tool and firmware img. in Paul's first post. Then updated to latest FW and did a factory restore. Horizontal lines greatly diminished, but still noticeable. Was going to return for replacement, but after a few days lines completely disappeared. No idea if this would help yours. Mine was in the same "condition" - not dropped, cracked, scratched, etc.

*That's right, seanwee! This did happen after returning to stock fw from lurker's fw. I had forgotten that!

I was on the latest FW and did the Lurker mod too, i decided to do a factory reset and seems it has solved the problem.

I've seen the horizontal lines before when installing lurker's firmware, no issues with that as they go away after a few reboots.

I just tried the firmware flasher tool and the screen is just as bad.

Oh no! I was hoping for a simple solution...
