Hi guys, I’m thinking about getting the 2020 DX160. I had the 2019 one, purchased on preorder. I sold it because it had some Bluetooth issues. WiFi wasn’t that bad, and battery life was enough for me (surely better than my NW-A105).
At the moment I have sold some of my DAPs and I’m using only the Sony A105 (Asian uncapped version), but I have some IEMs with balanced cable and I’d like to buy some hungry headphones in future.
The doubts are:
1) Does DX160 sound better than A105 single ended?
2) Is it better to buy the 2020 DX160 (giving it a second chance) or add some money to get a Sony ZX507?
3) Are the bluetooth problems solved? This is not necessarily mandatory for my choice, but it would be appreciated on a 400€ DAP.

Last but not least, do you guys have any advice regarding an upgrade from my A105?

Thank you very much!

No problem with the Bluetooth and my 2020 version. I've tried again today and it works better since the update of the firmware.

Thank you! I think I will give it a second try then. Fortunately here in Italy there is a reseller that grants 2 years warranty and assistance if needed.

My DX160 has just arrived! Incredible fast shipping (24hrs). I have some doubts:

1) I'd like to know how I can recognize that is actually a 2020 version. I'm sure that on my 2019 version there was the year "2019" printed on the back, and this one has got "2020", but I don't know if it is enough to recognize it.

2) It has arrived with a small blow in the corner, but there aren't scratches, is it possible that is a factory defect? Or maybe has it fallen?

3) I noticed that the dap is getting hot easily, more easily than I remember about my 2019 version that I sold some months ago.

Maybe @Paul - iBasso can help me... ?

Thanks!

It's a 2020 version if it is written on the back.

Regarding the blow on the corner , you should mention it to the seller and ask for a replacement or if you don't want a replacement a little discount...I would have prefer a replacement because no proof it did not fall

Thank you, and what about the heat? It doesn't become very hot, but it feels not ordinary to me.

I can't tell you because I did not notice anything strange about heat...sometimes it becomes a little hot when I'm streaming music on Tidal...but nothing that worries me

I have noticed that when new, and I guess it is due to the battery conditioning, many units get warmer than normal at first. I just got a new laptop and was concerned about the heat as it was charging and with use. Now it is more back to normal. I have seen this with the daps I have gotten as well.

I've spoken with the reseller that confirms me that probably the blow in the corner is a factory defect, and he can replace it if I want.
