In the US music tech is selling the closest match to the 120 at $249. That is the Cayin N5ii. Interesting food fight but won’t last

Bought one of these today. Does anybody know if it sounds even better with an amp. I fancied a pure music player and this with 2 SD card storage fits the bill. I hope I like it when it arrives. Anybody know what iems go well with it for a metal and reggae listener?

For current standards of today's DAP market it is very very fast, but it definitely cant beat the speed of a phone example iphone 8 to X.And what impressions you have of the user interface. Have you experienced any error or slowdown?

It takes about 6 seconds for my DX120 to turn on and ready for music. The turn on time is about the same as my iPhone 8. The turn off is faster, at 1 second as the DX120 shuts off in 1 second but the phones takes around 4 to 5 seconds to totally turn off. So overall the DX120 is faster than my iPhone 8 with most of the memory of the 8 unused. Going to to albums and songs is extremely fast. Scan speed on a 400gb card is also fast. That is what I getting.

Pretty much in line with what I'm getting, extremely quick speeds fo DX120, very happy with it
The respondsiveness of the screen still cant compare to smartphone in general though. When I swipe vertical or horizontally, I have to be careful it can mistakenly choose a song. Especially for the scroll, it's like impossible to use the scroll with one hand and also requires quite some effort to use even with two hand. My walkman A45 never had that kind of problem. All in all, still decent for daily usage.

Does anyone happen to know what the rated Battery Life is for Balanced FLAC only?
Can the DX120 be used as a USB DAC?

The more I think about it, the more it seems like DX120 is an upgrade
But I haven't had X5ii for so long... I kinda miss it now that you mention it, but it really feels like DX120 is better, at least form what I remember about X5ii
DX120 surely is more configurable
