To iBasso DX100 owner,

I am not sure that if you guys have noticed that SanDisk just launched a MicroSD/SDHX/SDHX 64GB EXTREME version!
This EXTREME MicroSD reading speed is up to 80MB/s and write speed is up to 50MB/s.
I have tried it out on my DX100 and guess what....fully loaded my 64GB with 24/192 albums and DX100 just read them like that without needed to wait for few minutes like the MicroSD Ultra version.
This MicroSD EXTREME 64GB is the one to go with and not the ULTRA version.

I hope this help you to choose your MicroSD card!

Cheers!

This is interesting. May be worth upgrading if it really cuts down on the startup time considerably.

$200 though...kinda steep.

My country selling it for $110. Difinitely worth for the speed.

Nearly double the price of the Ultra, but if it improves performance notably, something like what has been described of those fast 16GB Toshiba µSDHC's, it might be worth it. I'll give it a try eventually.

So the price of the DX50 has finally been revealed... at $270 I'm very tempted to try one. I only use my DX100 with (c)IEMs, so maybe the DX50 would be a better choice for me? My only concern is the limited capacity. Hey Kevin Chan, when are you guys going to launch 128gb microSD cards?

My DX100 doesn't switch on anymore: I used it yesterday to test a new pair of Senns (HD380), switched it off tonight before putting it under charge and this morning it doesn't start anymore. Using latest firmware version, didn't have issues in the past week I have been using it.

Anybody experienced this issue? How does hard reset work? Press with a pin and then switch on or both at the same time?

Never happened to me - I've just had it lock up a couple of times.
Put a pin in the hole and hold it for around 10 seconds and it should boot up.
Might be worth having it plugged into the power supply in case the battery is dead.
Might also be worth popping out the SD card.

Make sure you actually push the button in the hole as it can be fiddly to find.

I wouldn't recommend using a pin as the sharp end is "fiddly" and could cause damage.  Usually a paper clip end is much easier and safer to use.

Sadly I'll be leaving the DX100 community as I've put up my DX100 for sale. I've learnt a lot from you guys and despite moving on, the DX100 definitely has stood the test of time (at least in this rather fast evolutionary DAP world).

I have got the AK120 to replace my DX100 as my DAP when I am on the move. I am thinking to either sell the DX100 or keep it as my desktop DAP...

I'm probably going to get the AK120 while my DX100 is going for RMA due to some stutter issues.

I've tried various methods, changing firmware versions, `freezing' Applications to no avail.

The stutter happens three times and always on the third music, then never happening again until I switch it off and switch it on for another use.

I've shared my initial experiences of the DX100 paired with the Portaphile 627x in the Portaphile thread:

It's all good. You'll be back.
