Thanks

Will be giving the R1 a go once my friend decides to order one.
Otherwise will get one myself should i really pull the trigger for the 8.A (cos not sure if the wizard gonna pull a successor to 8A since iem 5.0 is out).

Once my savings hit the mark i can afford both, will decide.

Just got my Dx100 in recently.  Hooked up my HD650 as I no longer have an amp because I havent had time to use full sized headphones in a while and the DX made me remember why I love the HD650 so much.  What an amazing dap. Only problem is, I would use it with IEMs 95% of the time and feel its a bit overkill for IEMs...  Any thoughts?

it is known best with very sensitive IEMs due to its very low impedance, not sure how I should describe it technically. But in another word, it is in fact best for the most sensitive IEMs! That's the reason am planing to get it

Exactly, the DX100 should be perfectly suited for IEMs and CIEMs.  The all-in-one form factor with builtin Amp/DAC and player features lets you do away with extra stacks attached to a phone or iPod.  While the DX100 works nicely with full-sized cans all the way up to the HD800, it's portability is perfect for IEM/CIEM use.

Sorensim thinks its a match made in heaven with his Heir 8.A.

Take some advise buy the HDP-R10. ITS MORE MONEY, but worth every dime, google it no one has anything bad to say, EXCEPT for the people who own the DX100. This hread is 741 pages long and filled with issues. One of my other hobbies is RC HELI,S AND CARS. when a product is produced and threads have pages like this it is because it was bad from the conception, it does not mean it was done not caring, It just is.
just my 2 cents.

please do not take this reply as a disrespect to those who have bought DX100.

for one it has only had one update, it was to remove all other apps.
second sound i cannot say as a comparison, but it sounds as good as home or non portable setups.
i do not use it with headphones just IEM,S  but i do have a HD800  and that sounds good as well.
if for no other reason the constant updating and fixes just seems exhausting to me. also the play time is better , not by that much though,.

and i am not bashing here , i subed this thread to learn about my HDP FEATURES . and i am amazed of the issues and people still do not mention the HDP, i just do not get it.

Because the dx100 is widely more available compared to its japanesse twin, some people also wants the android side of the dx100, while this thread is 741 pages, how much of it is filled with nothing but trouble ? Most of the people here actually praised it and seems to have no trouble in using it. I see no problem if they want to buy it , this thing and the AK 100 is actually your only choice if you want something with a decent UI and at least for the DX100 the ability to get tags

I think the (by far) biggest reason this thread has grown to 741 pages is that the concept of "search before asking" seems to elude the majority of new DX100 owners.

Off course it has its quirks but I find them to be minor annoyances at most. I'm still waiting for someone to show me a better all-in-one solution.

As i said I'm not bashing at all, I'm just saying the HDP R10 just plays fine  . Its just like the DX100 without the issues. as far as features I'm sure the dx has more. But lets face  it comes at a price. Here is a another valid point . Many people here do listening evaluations on head phones and ear phones. It makes me wonder what they are hearing as i read how the overall sound signature changes radically with the software upgrades, enough people go back and downgrade. it just makes me wonder>>>>>>
ald.

But most people stays on one firmware anyway , that they think is the best , generally firmware often changes how the system work , and thus how the sound sig varies , maybe the designer liked that sound , maybe they want that kind of sound, the HDP R10 is basically ibasso dx100 that is more expensive, and have less feature

I ve been wanting to ask this for a while , but have been busy(& lazy) .

I mainly use my DX100 with my SR 71B and HD 800s (and some occasions just HD 800s and DX100) .

The HD 800s are a bit much to travel with , or walk about etc . So i ve been reading alot on here about IEMs ,and so far Heir 8as have impressed me ,but elsewhere i ve read about Future sonics IEMs , tho i ve seen nowt here on them .

From simply reading the Future sonics IEMs pique my interest ,not that im overly impressed Bono and Flea use them as on stage monitors(tho as a bass lover i respect Flea ) .They ve got pretty impressive reviews all round tho .

These are the 2 i may be bouncing between ,as Heirs on here get raved ,and other where reviews on Future sonics IEMs impress me . The one thing concerning the heirs that holds me back is i need to get ear impressions done , an added expense , and the fact i live in such a rural area and i dont drive , the nearest (Ear specialist ? ) is at least over night from me UGH .Meaning id have to pay for travel , and over night stay expenses .

Id appreciate some in put on this matter , as i need to get around with my hi res music ,and the HD 800s are nt the ones for that . Ill prob even lighten the load and just tote the DX100 and leave SR71B at home .

Cheers

While I don't own the Heirs, I do have a set of custom Future Sonic MG6Pro IEM's. I can vouch for the fact that they do sound magnificent with the DX100. Another feature of the Future Sonics that is worthy of consideration is the fact that they have ports which allow for varying the amount of bass that they deliver. As these are customs, you will still have to have impressions made.

Choose your audiologist with care, as not all of them are familiar with making impressions specifically for audio IEM's. Future Sonics has a list of recommended audiologists on their website.

Damn mate , i had no idea the FS were also ones where id need impressions for ,am i right to think the 8 As also need impressions ? Im way out of the loop (probably) if impressions are needed .
Please excuse me if this is a D.U.M.B. inquiry . I ve had nowt experience in this area . If i simply cant make it to an audiologist , am i out of luck for the Future sonics and Heirs ? Even riskier to ask ,is there any way to do an impression my self at home and forward this to one of the mentioned companies(Sorry if your chuckling ) .Im certain there are no audiologists within many hundreds of miles from me .
Im not versed enough to know why id need impressions ,can these 2 IEMs be purchased without impressions and is that even advisable ?
Lastly , if i cant buy heirs or FS due to that issue , what other great IEMs would be in the same universe as these two that someone may advise ?
I listen to many genres of music from Joe Beck to Motorhead to Mozart to Dead can Dance .I cant really pin down anyone genre of music as a mainstay excluding any others ,so the IEMs would need to be great at every thing :)
PS i googled and home ear impressions seem possible ,but is such advisable and why ? http://www.earplugstore.com/doearcaimkit.html

I have the same rig as you, and have found that the JH13's sing with both the SR71b and the DX100.  However, going balanced does not help the JH13's IMO.
