So about them dual slots

Whats the max size card in each ?

i read a review saying with two slots you can expand up to  96 gigs

Thats only 48 gig per slot , is this correct ?

Cheers

You can use the two slots with 32gb micro sd cards and it has 32gb's of internal memory. With 64gb micro cards, you can get more.

How does this player compare with the other hidef dap's such as the HM801, AK100, Tera Player ,and the CK4?

I'm not talking about the C4 sorry I meant the CK4 lol :p. Give H20 a PM and talk with him on it as he finds the bass to be rolled off which may just suit you. He still loves the player but that is one thing about it he doesn't. But for you it may be exactly what you are looking for :).

64 GB micro SD cards so 128 plus the 32 onboard is 160 minus some space here and there for the filesystem.

Should i be using the 1/8th adapter for iems and plug it into the 1/8th jack of the ibasso? or should i just use the 1/4 jack on the ibasso for iems. I think the 1/8th might be better.

Both jacks are wired in parallel so according to iBasso, they should sound exactly the same. Just use whichever you feel is most convenient for you.

And if you do what I did (see this thread: http://www.head-fi.org/t/592076/ibasso-dx100-true-24-bit-for-bit-reviews-impressions-inst-downloads-imgs-video-pg-1/8190#post_8765254), you can put up to 128GB in each of those slots.

AS I said before...yep...it looks goofy having an adapter to bring a SDXC card OUTSIDE the unit, but it works great.  I've had a 128GB SDXC card in my DX-100 since I got it, for a total of 192GB.  I can almost fit my entire collection on it.

Now, if I can just figure out how to change 1 slot into dual slots on the DX-100...

EDIT (JAN 8, 2013): I DO NOT OWN THE AK100 - I AM ASSUMING THAT THE ADAPTER APPROACH I USED WITH MY DX-100 WILL WORK THE SAME WAY ON THE AK100.  THE SDXC SPEC ALLOWS FOR UP TO 2TB, SO THERE SHOULD BE NO REASON FOR IT NOT TO WORK.

you can put the adapter INSIDE the dx100, behind the battery but the wire is still showing and i hope it wont fry your adapter haha

If you are syncing FLAC files I recommend you set up a custom preset under "Auto conversion". Its also listed in the Options tab I had mentioned earlier. Under <Add Auto-Conversion Rule...> You'll find a list of options. Next to "When the format is:" Change it to "FLAC." Now under "If any of the following conditions are true:", "For Audio bitrate" change it to "Above" and change "input" to "128 kbps." Further below change "To the following format:" to "FLAC." Customize the compressions if you wish. I recommend 6 at the most. So that would be the third to the last line then select OK.

Why do you recommend doing a conversion for FLAC files?  Do they not sync properly otherwise?  Or is it to increase the amount of compression/decrease file size?

What are people using to manage their libraries for the DX100?  Folder structure only?  Media Monkey?  Does JRiver MC sync playlists/music with the DX100?

Thanks.

Also, why do you have a playlist for each album?  Is this something that has been fixed in latest firmware?  ie as long as your tags are correct you shouldn't need to do this?

Because I like to have everything organized how I want it to be. I don't use Album, Artist, etc to access my music. IMO it is a waste of time on the DX100 and accessing via playlists is much faster in comparison (faster and smoother like an ipod). Plus I have complete control of how my tracks are organized. I'm a control freak in this regard and the way I put it is the way it will show up :). Also when I add more tracks to those playlists its as easy as copy and paste and I just update the original playlist file and copy and paste/replace the updated one over to the DX100 playlist folder and walla!
