Annoyed that Ibasso is providing DSD support for the DX 50 but not for its flagship DAP

Not too certain about where you're heading with this but flagships aren't forever?

DX90. DX100 won't have it.

I have emailed iBasso and at this time there is no new product coming out to replace the dx100. However if dsd is your requirement for a new flagship then you could always look at the hdp-r10. As it alongside the dx100 are the current flagships.

Maybe not intentionally, but look at what they have managed to achieve with the DX50. I will be very surprised if the 90 doesn't equal or get so close to the 100 that it is for all intents equal...in a lighter, smaller form factor.

Yes, and the DX90 is going to have  to really groove, because if it doesn't, the X5 will take it to the cleaners.

Please note that I will be buying an X5 but I am also a fan of the DX100, so I'm relatively unbiased when it comes to comparing Fiio vs iBasso.

With regard to the DX90 vs the X5, I'm just telling it like it is - the DX90 will have to be in approximately the same ballpark as the DX100 (with a bit less can-driving grunt, perhaps), because people are already saying that the X5 gets surprisingly near to HM-901 SQ (not as layered, but still surprisingly close, considering it costs 1/3rd the price).

You need to hear the DX50 with the latest FW. A totally new player and frankly, I am surprised as I didn't think it could be this good, did not expect it.

I own a DX100 which makes it more annoying how Ibasso can have DSD support in basically one version of the same product but not the other. You would think it would be relatively easy for Ibasso to address this inconsistency for their customers who paid top dollar for their high end audiophile DAP

HDP R10 is not that basically the same to DX100, it's an improved version, released after DX100 and only meant to be sold in Japan. If you know IBasso/ Hibino,  DX100 is manufactured and in charged by different part of corporation and it applies to HDP R10. You can't simply send DX100 to Hibino for repair in Japan or HDP R10 to Ibasso in China....

All of a sudden my DX100 wasn't playing nice with Windows 8.1 last night.  Would plug it in and hear the usb connect chime but the device would not show in explorer.  It would show as mounted via the little task bar icon but would not allow me to dismount.  I ended up just dismounting by turning usb connect off via Android to unplug it.

After three attempts it finally worked and I did my file transfer.  I haven't changed anything and all other USB devices are working fine. Anyone else had any Windows 8 issues?
