I've been trying to stick with the unbalanced cable as I don't have a balanced source, but the upper treble isn't 100% where I want it.

After a lot of tip rolling and fiddling with EQ I found a pretty great combo that made the highs a lot better for me. Of course YMMV.
Sony hybrids pushed all the way so the grill is flush with the tip's edge (that's the only way they will stay on the nozzle for me) + EQ: +6db on 16kHz and -3db on 8kHz.
OMG now they really sing for me

I am using the CB13 cable on the Sony Z5 and it works great. Batter than the Sony cable in balanced or single ended. Nicer and cleaner bass and more transparent.

I have the IT03 and the JH13 freq phase custom and wouldn't want to be without either. Unbelievable how they did it with the IT03 but for me, it is not a step down in sound from the JH13, just a little different sound.

I'm guessing, probably not. It's right on the edge of the 'A couple months' that Paul mentioned in response to my query back on May 8. And, as we all know, these things almost never happen early:

Personally, I'm hoping for 'before the end of summer'. I'm excited, and, assuming the pricing is in the expected ballpark (say IT03 + 50%) I'd put in a pre-order.

Given iBasso's penchant for odd price numbers ($869, $359, $259), I'm hoping for $359 or $379 -- hopefully not $489.

I'd love to see an IT04/CB13 bundle with a small discount vs a la carte, assuming the pairing works well. Of course that puts me at risk of deciding my IT03/CB12 pairing is inadequate and forcing me to splurge on a second CB13. I've decided that I'm never moving MMCX cables from one IEM to another again -- that has to be by far the most prevalent cause of IEM or cable failure.

That's really not a bad thing, I have the 03s and am very happy with them even though I am going to get the 04s. When I get the 04s, I will be keeping the 03s. Love em

Same here. I think I'll enjoy having two different sigs to match my mood. I expect the 04 to make my P2 seem very referency, more detailed, and perhaps a little bigger soundstage, while the 03 provides a more musical sound. No confirmation bias here though

I have been comparing it03 against iSine 10, 20 for a few months and finally bought it03 this evening (a few hours ago). I also compare it to AKG N40 this evening, but it is more difficult to drive from my Sony Xperia Z5.

Nothing bad of buying it now. Unless they don't fit your ears well. That's the common issue of others who bought them blindly. I also got mine via blind buy but luckily, they fit well and I liked the sound. Reading a lot of impressions and asking people paid off my trust on them. Now waiting for the 04 to give my 03 a sibling.

You know, JetEffect and AKM filters are your friends, since you mentioned P2

Have no idea how IT04 sounds, yet, but so far I have been very happy how DX200 w/AMP2 pairs up with neutral/reference IEMs.
