I can get the 201's for about $20 shipped, and I can get the 205's for $40 shipped, what do you guys think?   I live in a house where I have to keep the noise level down, and thats because I'm big into my turntables and mixing etc all night long.....

Anyway my nice AKG headphones got robbed in the city, it sucks!  Looking for a cheap replacement.  I've heard nothing but good stuff from Sennheiser's so I was wandering if you guys thought I should spend the extra $20 or not.

Or if anyone has another suggestion in the $40 SHIPPED range please post a link.  I listen to hip hop.

JVC HAS700. Better than the HD201, and WAAAAAAAAAY more comfortable. I owned both. HAS700 all the way. Like them more than the HD280 Pro too.

Never heard the 205.

Dunno if you were talking about me, but the HD201 is still in my house (sold it to my roomie), even with portable amps I'd still prefer the HAS700. No mistake, the HD201 is an awesome headphone for the money, but the sound sig, comfort, and overall experience with the HAS700 was better.

What about the HD203's? They have great reviews on the forum and they're a little less than the 205's if I remember correctly. I think they would be well worth a listen.

Maxell DHP-II would be far better then anything else at the same price. They're only $30 online usually. Sound as good as a lot of $100 headphones i've heard.
You can check reviews on this forum and they're mostly all positive.

Really, JVC?  I thought they were just a crappy walmart brand....  Anyone else know anything about those JVC cans?

JVC HARX700 and HARX900 would like a word with you. JVC has a couple of decently priced gems. Well known here as capable headphones.

Has anyone actually had both the JVC HARX700 and the DHP-II? I have my doubts that the RX700 could possibly sound better. I had the RX900 and hated it, but everyone says the RX700 is a lot better then the 900.
I guess most people will skip the Maxell since it's...Maxell.

Another problem is that the JVC headphones are huge. At least the RX900 was. I believe the RX700 is a bit smaller, but not by much.

People should try the RX700 and DHP-II and just return the loser. I'm willing to bet money that the DHP-II would win when it came down to sound quality.

Has anyone tried both and preferred the RX700?
