Hey guys, it's been awhile since I posted on the forums. I've had the Grado SR-225i's paired with Bravo V2(RCA blackplates). I like the sound signature of the Grado's but it just lacks bass. I guess I would call myself a basshead. Can you guys recommend me headphones that are very similar to my Grado's with more bass? I read that Denon D2000 and Beyer DT880 may fit the bill, but are there any other cans that fit my needs?
Also, how much of a difference can modding my Grados to woodies? Does it add a lot of bass or not really?

Looking to spend 200+whatever I sell my 225's for(160 or something), so the most I'm spending is 400 ish. Gonna buy this for my birthday which is coming up in less than 2 weeks.

Thanks for reading!

Sennheiser IE8. If you wouldn't mind IEMs.
Otherwise go with Ultrasone

already have UE TF10's, need to burn them in a little as I'm hearing lack of treble. Maybe because I'm used to my Grado's brightness. TF10's have the amount of bass I want, if not more. Might sell it as well if I don't like the sound when it's burned in.

how bright are D2000's?

D2000's aren't bright, infact caming from Grado's your gonna think they are about pitch black, oh and  theres been alot of talk about the Denon D1100 that is actually has more and higher quuality bass then the D2000( IE Tighter and more punch in the mid bass)

Grado with bass? Sounds like Ultrasone.

Might not need to sell the Grado's either, HFI-580 does guitars almost as well as a Grado but can deliver rich and deep bass.  (it's a bassists monitor headphone)

It's between hfi-580, d1001, and d2000. Will try to look for a place where I can audition them close to campus so I can try them out before buying, if not, I'll just go by opinions. leaning towards d2000 though, then the hfi-580.

Why the D1001? If your looking at that then just buy a Creative Aurvana live.

No such thing as far as I know, your best solution would be to get a M^3 headphone amplifier which has a bass boost knob. You can even try TTVJ flat pads

Tinola,
Definitely look at the Denon D1100s. They are supposed to have A LOT of bass. If you listen to more "balanced" music genres, an EQ helps with the D1100s. They are only $140 off of Ebay.

adding dt770 or dt880 on my list. So many to choose from. Hopefully i make the right decision.

DT880s are known for a neutral sound and not too much bass. I would not consider it if you like bass. The DT770 is, however, regarded as having a lot of bass. The D1100 reportedly has a lot more bass than even the DT770.
