Hey everyone...

Well, I’m in need of some advice or recommendations. I can no longer wear IEMs or even earbuds because my ears frequently drain clear fluid. I normally wear on/over ears all the time, but two weeks ago I had to send my cans in for repair, so I decided to finally use my iBasso IT01 for basically the first time since I bought them in Feb 2018.

My ear canal drainage and irritation increased dramatically even when I switched to the foam from the silicone tips. I would have to remove them to scratch and dry out my ears with some tissue every 15 minutes. I was even going to purchase the Conply sports sweatproof tips, but it’s gonna be a waste of money since I don’t think there’s anything that can help this situation. None of my docs or ENTs care enough to look into it past a general look and pressure test.

My question is, I need portable cans, but I don’t know what direction to look in. I really want to get some clip on/behind the neck ones, but everything I’ve come across doesn’t really match up to what I’d like.

I’m a bass head (I own JBL EVEREST 310) but I’ll forever need clarity over anything. I also am a VERY clumsy person. I need headphones that have a detachable cable and/or cans that are bluetooth (which is why I have the 310s). I’ll be needing them for my more active days; if they have any IPX rating, that would be a godsend but I’m not gonna bet on that. That’s probably asking for too much haha.

Are there ANY decent clip on or behind the neck on/over ears that fall in any multiple of these categories? (Detachable, bluetooth, bass friendly, decent isolation, portable, IPX rating)

I’m so disheartened...

Also, can anyone recommend great open back on/over ears? They don’t necessarily have to have those same qualifications since they’ll be for home use. Bass head approved with clarity is my wish.

Thank you all so much for your time.

There is the Koss KSC-75 clip-on, but those are wired, so here are the Koss Porta Pro Wireless, a legendary open-back on-ear with Wireless capability:

If you have (or will have) extra cash, have patience, and love Grados, then the GW100 will be released soon:

Awesome suggestions! I’ve never tried either but I’m definitely wanting to now. I wonder what would be a better value in the long run.

The Porta Pro Wireless would probably be the better value in the long run. However, if you want Koss’ legendary Limited Lifetime Warranty (Porta Pro Wireless has a 1 year limited warranty from the battery), you can get the regular Porta Pro wired and a FiiO BTR1 clIp-on DAC and Bluetooth module for the same price:
