HUM Pervasion is coming - New DAP in Town

Hum is not perfect though. Much of what we talk about is the sound perspective which its quite skilled (especially for an Android device) but things should be stated openly that it cannot really be used when Wifi is on because you can hear a static noise through the left earpiece. This means streaming, Spotify, Tidal etc are not really usable in a streaming environment.

We've had this checked with Hum and every unit produces the same static. What you can do is install different music players, apps from the PlayStore to give the unit a facelift or dress up your experience (then turn Wifi off). For example, all I have installed on my Hum is an Android screensaver and an app called battery mix which gives me accurate percentage on screen in the task bar.

@H20Fidelity Frankly even with my J3 I just let it play through

Screen's just for boasting purposes really...

Haha..You know that's not true. Deep down behind your Shozy defense system you wish your Cowon J3 sounded like Alien.

I know this is true.

Maybe...

I like the "against all odds" factor... It's sorta wishing Chrono Trigger & Cross had modern day graphics, but then you realize while it would be nice, it really doesn't need it...

I don't know if I'm making any sense right now. All I'm saying is that I'm appreciating music more now that I experienced a no-screener... It's like I can finally focus on the music...

You could always sell your (now rare) Alien and get a Pervasion!!

...while adding in an extra $200... I don't have that type of money right now, weep weep. I'm going to go so nuts if I don't win

Gotta say, been enjoying the sound more and more with this over the last couple of days... It really came to the fore with some old Brooke Fraser - What to do with Daylight. To me it really sung with it as opposed to say alterbridge where I missed a little of other players spaciousness...

Great listening!

from my HUM review:
HUM VS N6

These are 2 very different beasts.  This is almost an unfair comparison as I feel the N6 has the best synergy I have heard with my Ref1.
I felt that the N6 made the HUM sound a little slow in the bass and glossed over in the highs.  I thought the mids were presented differently but I perhaps enjoyed them more on the HUM.  Where the N6 is an aggressive (but refined, I like to think of it as a dx90 but sounds more refined and natural), the HUM sounds more like an ak100.  I find myself wanting to reach for the N6, but an hour later have a rest, when I did reach for the HUM, I would find myself still listening when it was time to go home from work 5 hours later.

After time with the N6 to settle however, I would say the n6 highs are smoother now than they were at time of this review and I listen without unplugging for up to 8 hours a day.  I would also add that the n6 sounds more spacious.  When listening with the ref1's and the N6, I could swear I am listening to a good pair of closed cans.

You are welcome to borrow mine to take home to have a decent listen to if you want to a/b them properly.
