Hugo TT 2 by Chord Electronics - The Official Thread

5 or 0.5? Where do you see that? I see 18w balanced into 8 ohms, which would be 1.5A.
This is from the TT2 product page:

Hugo TT 2 eschews the Li-Po battery power supply of the original and ushers in six super capacitors capable of delivering huge, linear dynamic currents when the music demands it with peak output of 5A, 9.3V RMS.

Hello everyone,

Are BNC cables directional? I purchased a set of DH Labs Silversonic D-750 BNC digital cables to connect my TT2 and Mscaler. When I ordered them, at The Cable Company, the order form shows that you have select the connectors by "source end" and "load end", in this case since they were both BNC, it was a moot point. When I received the cables, there were NO arrows showing direction. So my question is does it make a difference? I don't see arrows on the stock BNC cables from Chord. Thanks.
Might be manufacturer specific. I have True Signal Audio Sliver Cables and they clear indicate direction (on these and all of their cables)

Stupid question here, in the context of cable direction, which is the source: the TT2 or the Mscaler? I would assume it is the Mscaler because the USB from my ULtraRendu is plugged directly into it....... yes???? Thanks

Thanks. That would imply it would be into a sub-2 ohm (1.86) load and would output 46.5 watts. Good to know we should have plenty of current and never need it.

Well, why don't you just flip them around and see if it makes any difference to you? I don't see any reason why it should.

For those who are interested in HTT2's power output out of SE and BAL, Rob has calculated and shared the following table:

I still can't believe how much power this thing puts out. Previously, we had thought somewhere around 2 watts at the Susvara's 60ohm impedance, but it's close to 6 watts! The Abyss is getting over 7 watts! This might be more than even the Formula S and some other high-end head amps are putting out to those cans.

Yes it’s a long time.
Is it just me or do alot of qobuz’s “remastered” albums sound like total schit and sound like somebody just turned up the volume and mashed it into one loud noise ?

Currently listening to.......

Well, that is the whole point of much of this remastering. Make the whole thing sound louder. "People" think loud = good. It is not meant to actually make it sound better from an audiophile high fidelity point of view. It is in fact meant to make it sound worse, just louder. It is up to you to decide if you think that is a good or bad thing. If you ask me it is an insult and such trash should be avoided.

Mola Mola Tambaqui Vs MS/TT2 (powered by Keces P8)
I'm not using headphones.
The DACs are connected to Chord Ultima 5 directly with kimber KS 1136 XLR and Albedo Metamorphosis driving Megico A1.

Just set it up this morning. Quick A-B for a few songs. The differences are obvious.
MS/TT2 is mellow and relax. Mola Mola... more revealing and exciting.
