if the wine was going to be consumed while listening to a TT2 one could argue that this was not strictly off topic i suppose.:deadhorse:

thanks a lot rob. are the distortion figure a bit better for low gain mode ? if 6.4v XLR is at 1% thd then what is maximum output ( se and XLR in low gain) with least distortion figures ?

No significant difference in distortion for gain modes, if it's operated below clipping of course. As too how close to clipping you can go - I wouldn't worry as it's a very sharp characteristic. If you need more than 2.5v (headphone or phono), 5V (XLR), go to high gain mode.

That’s a great album, I’ve heard all of those musicians live several times (though not all together). Pretty much every possible subset of them have made great albums too. Metheny, Haynes and Holland made Question and Answer for example, an exemplary trio recording. Gary Burton and a Chick Corea made the outstanding Crystal Silence and New Crystal Silence. And so on!

The hugo TT 2 drives the focal aria 936 speakers to club volume levels at 9 watts yes 9 watts, I had a Naim nap 250 dr and it kept tripping out with my B&W CM10 S2 so bought the Naim 300 Dr. These focal aria speakers are in a different league,.
How can Rob watts do this at 9 watts the bloke is a total genius, did I mention I've met him
