Is anyone here driving any of the Klipsch Heritage series speakers with their TT2? They're all so efficient so it should be a really good pairing. I've decided to get the Cornwall IIIs for my listening room but would love to hear some first hand impressions.

For Rob if you read this,

The TT2 presentation slides state the TT2 provides extra current for low impedance loads. Is this extra current provided just in low gain or in low gain and high gain with low impedance loads? many thanks MK.

I have been driving my Klipsch RP600-M direct from my TT2 for a while now and at 96db it does so with ease, I have also driven some less sensitive 90db 4ohm speakers with great success as well. So with the Cornwall at over 100db the TT2 should drive these with absolutely no problem at all.

I bought the RP600-M without hearing them hooked up to the TT2 first but as they were relatively cheap I was willing to take the risk and take the hit selling them on secondhand if they weren't my cup of tea, but they sounds amazing through the TT2. With the Cornwalls at over £5k here in the UK I would recommend taking your TT2 into a showroom to try it out with the them first and not take my word for it!!

For 5K I would an mscaler then spend 1.5K on the speakers for a far more spectacular result IMHO.

It will supply the same currents in both gain modes - if the OP voltage and the load impedance is the same. But low gain is limited to a little more than 3v RMS, so with a 2 ohm load you would only get 1.5A RMS output, exactly as 3v in high gain mode.

You can use 3,5-3,5 but this will put TT2 in “headphone mode”, so you would have double volume control. It will work, but DAC mode might give you better sound.

But typically Rob’s DACs use digital volume control and ‘DAC mode’ is just a volume preset. No hardware is usually bypassed.

@Rob Watts Is it the same for the TT2 given its different analogue stage (based on Power Pulse Array amp) from DAVE and the rest?

Thanks. I cant just use a standard line out cable from the 3.5mm headphone out?

Since, as Relic points out, “dac mode” is just a preset voltage, I would use the connection that is most convenient for you. If you are otherwise using the speakers, then the headphone 3.5mm makes sense, because it’s easy to plug and unplug when you want headphones. If you use a lot of other headphones and no speakers, then the rear RCAs might make more sense.
