Out of interest, what XFD and Filter settings are people using?

Notice What HiFi went with XFD2 and FIL1.

I like XFD0 / FIL1 with my new Eikons but preferred XFD3 / FIL4 with my XCs.

The differences seem quite subtle to me but what do others think?

Only just started listening, so far I agree that the effect of both these settings is VERY subtle. I think I prefer the crossfeed off. The filters dont make much difference on good recordings but on poorer recordings filters 3 and 4 take the edge off and make the track more enjoyable. My default for now will be XFD0 and filter1.

Out of Hugo 2 I liked the green filter (filter 2) with the Eikons and most of the time with HD800S. It only filters noise that may get introduced via higher sample rates which I only listen to sparingly and never found instances where it made a difference to my ears. On 16/44|48 stuff, I think it should be identical to white filter (filter 1). Sometimes through the HD800s I enjoyed adding a little warmth with the other filters. Very subtle differences, though.

I generally preferred no cross feed, but on the occasions I enjoyed it, I preferred XFD2 as well. That's where the center imaging kind of snapped into place for me.

After a long and nail biting wait I will finally have thr TT 2 in my hands within 30 min. I have to admit I haven't been paying too much attention to this this so sorry if I missed the question but where is everyone getting the dual 3 pin female to 4 pin female adapter for xlr connection on the back of the Hugo TT 2? I could just as easily make this short cabled adapter. What would be the best wire to use and where to get it?

288 mW into my 300 ohms headphones is plenty and whatever the wattage is into Grados will be capable of knocking them off of my head, so I'll start off with SE and maybe have Zach at ZMF make me something nice for 4-pin to dual 3-pin, if I end up wanting more. I've toyed with getting one of these for playing around:

https://www.amazon.com/Female-Balan..._rd_t=40701&psc=1&refRID=7XMYCJP8XVY3B21M6QWJ

It is pretty inexpensive, if you just want to test. Could hold you over until you had something nicer made, if you have cans that warrant running balanced full time.

Was the nail biting due to customs? Did you buy from someone over seas? (I considered that--glad it worked out for you)

I bought my Hugo TT-2 for Audio 46 in your neck of the woods.

288mw? Where do you get those numbers from because I havent see many specs out on the TT 2 which is surprising considering the following it has and why. The only somewhat easy cans I have would be the HD820 which, from what I heard, are the exact same drivers as the HD800/HD800S. My others are the Abyss 1266 Phi CC and HE6se. I suppose those can use the extra oomph hence me inquiring about the adapter.

I take a lot of notes including from this thread. Here is what Rob has said in the past. Sorry, I don't have a link, but I'm certain it is accurate

- Single-ended OP power (@1% THD) 288 mW RMS 300 ohms; 1.5W into 50ohms; 7.3W RMS 8 ohms
- Balanced XLR OP power: (@1% THD) 1.15 W RMS 300 ohms; 6W into 50ohms; 18W RMS 8 ohms

So, your HE6 will get 1.5W SE and 6W balanced. I'd certainly be playing around with balanced, if I were you, but they may sound just fine SE. My opinion is that 100mW is ample for Sennheiser and ZMF (dynamic) drivers.

EDIT: That is some gorgeous table top eye candy you have there.

Still got the plastic cover over the display window; nice, I like it.
