I find the bass from Chord DACs to be very pronounced where I can clearly hear the individual bass notes much more clearly than other DACs, there is also a flow of the music like there are musicians in front and behind the speakers (depth) that I just don't get from other DACs, there is also the width of the stage and the fact that I don't get ear fatigue no matter how long or loud I listen. There is also a musicality feeling that creates emotions when listening to the music, I have listened to more expensive DACs and cheaper DACs and I don't get that feeling.

Interesting, which DACs have caused listening fatigue for you? I can get fatigue from anything, including chord, if im not feeling great or listening to compressed albums for too long.

Well, I do listen to some compressed albums as some of the music I like is poorly recorded, but not too many of them.

So many things can't be measured in reproduced sound: depth, width, height of the space/room; how natural/true to life the instruments sound; sharper/more rounded sound; thicker/thinner sound; colder/'analytical' vs. warmer/'musical' sound and so on.
Many of us could easily differentiate two amps along the above described lines, yet these attributes can't really be measured on paper.
Perhaps we should arrange more objective blind tests to convince those who can't hear the difference between a Topping D90 and the TT2, that there are some people who can actually hear it and value it.

Perfectly said.

The problem is people always fail the tests (including myself) when comparing a Modi 3E to Qutest the Modi seems smoother and the qutest clearer but its so small that I might be imagining it.

Small and big difference is very relative. For a few folks for example all headphones sound the same. Some people can't hear the difference between amps. Some can, but can't hear the difference between DACs. Then again, some can hear the difference between DACs, but can't hear the difference between DAC filters. And there are the Rob Watts's, who can easily hear the difference between DAC filters.

I have never come across someone that couldn't tell the difference between headphones. Listen, I would love the Qutest to transform my music but im not sure it sounds any different from all my cheaper DACs. Im not gonna lie about it to make myself feel better about the money I spent.

There are several studies that show that the brain can make up information to replicate stimuli or sounds it has heard, so if you hear DACs and change them to replay a song the sound is close enough that your brain will fill the gaps and you may not be able to differentiate what's what.

I am not here to argue. This is one of those 'beating a dead horse' topics on Head-Fi, like upgrade cables. :deadhorse:

Follow your ears only what I have been saying since I joined this hobby. The TT2 wouldn't be such success if it didn't sound good enough for the price. Although the latest price increase is questionable.

One thing I do find using the TT2 is I do doze off.
Please bear in mind I had a small mind to start with.
Unfortunately I had a brain fart at the age of 29 many years ago.
I seem to doze off far more easily listening from the TT2.
I don’t know why?
Maybe I’m not having to process the information as hard?
I also find I doze off listening to my rebuilt Technics 310 moving coil cartridge.

The same can’t be said for other dacs and cartridges I use.

Still can’t damage anything dozing off listening from the TT2.😁

Enjoy your music guys.
Remember it’s the music that counts and not graphs or YouTube click bait.

Yes, I own (and fully enjoy and appreciate) three Chord products, but unfortunately I think these will be my last. I always knew I was paying a premium with this brand. However seeing them increase prices by around 30% recently left me with a feeling that this has gone past what is reasonable.

Also worth pointing out - I am one of those that gradually upgraded. I am now with a TT2 precisely because I could easily and immediately hear the improvement compared to other DACs. And I do call it like it is... I have shared my opinions about the M Scaler.
