Closing the eyes definitely helps for me. I am able to appreciate the depth and layering m-scalar brings and I like focusing on individual instruments. I go one step further. Sometimes switch off the AC and PC, turn off the lights for total silence other than the music.

You gots game, Playa.

@Amberlamps approve's of your post.

Now that your Playa credential's have been established, so how about them free LCD 4z's ?

I won't be greedy, just the one pair will do. :wink:

Not with mine. Are you sure you're talking of the Hugo₂?

I have to correct myself: It does matter indeed. (Somehow I managed to get it working the first time.)

It’s 50%/50% eh!

It makes no difference. Check with chord.

Can anyone describe how to best connect the HUGO2 and Mscaler?? I must have missed that post but remember an inexpensive Audioquest adapter.

There are a few different ways but you can use this adapter https://amzn.to/2YvqCQt combined with BNC to RCA cables or just BNC cables with RCA barrel adapters on one end. If your set up will be solely a desktop set up however, consider either the Qutest, TT2 or DAVE instead of the Hugo 2 as those all have direct BNC ins.

That's the one I use

This fiio rc Ux1 headphone extension cable is pcocc wire by oyaide. https://www.amazon.com/FiiO-Universal-Extension-Headphone-RC-UX1/dp/B00GHN8ZWE there is already 3.5mm stereo plug at one end for Hugo 2 so at other end you can use screw type bnc male plugs for m scaler. I used this cable with my Hugo 2. After getting tt2 i got another alpha occ pure silver FX alpha ag coaxial cable by furutech with furutech plugs.

Just to reiterate with hugo2/mscaler it does not matter which way the bnc cables go in at either end. The coax input on H2 automatically flags right/left data.

If Rob could confirm this that would be great. many thanks

Make sure you find the version released in August of 1959 and not any of the more recent releases. This pre dolby recording with mscaler and hugo2 on red warm filter is absolutely stunning. It has pushed the soundstage of my PM1 to places i never knew existed. I feel like i'm listening to this for the first time again.

Is that version a download or is it available on Tidal / Quoboz?

@musickid
I believe that the version of Miles Davis Kind of Blue, you are referring to is the 2013 remaster, Sony/Columbia’s final word on that title. And yes it is another level up from all other versions. Also note that all versions prior to about 1997 had three tracks at the wrong speed.

Curious: Which song or album are we talking about? I believe the original post was a pic, or something.
