Hmmmm, probably about $5000 AUD but that doesn't include source components as they were part of my speaker rig prior to getting my headphone set-up.

I've relaid much on excuses about the discounts I get due to work relations and that most stuff are work/studies related - helps a lot with the significant other. Thought the HD 800 and Headroom UDAC/BUDA + DPS and accessories was had to hide and meant to decrease my long term spending.... As if

Most have been on sources like gaming rig and the UDAC/BUDA thought so only maybe only 500 USD marked value for HP's excluding HD 800.
I should mention that I have access to load of stuff from work and related so that saves me loads...

About $1000 so far. $1500 if I count the HF2.

Thats not counting the source and AMP, which will probably get me about the 2K mark.

And to think I discovered head-fi when I was looking for headphones to replace my old Sony. My budget at that time? Nothing more than $20. Man, those were the days!

Over time, LOTS.

Based on the gear that I have currently settled on, ZERO dollars. As a matter of fact, I may even be ahead of the game by a few hundred dollars. Over the years I have purchased headphones that have eventually been discontinued (and therefore increased demand and drove prices up) that I eventually sold off for a very tidy profit (a few examples: K-1000s, HP-2s, PS-1, HF-1, etc). As such, those profits have easily paid for all of the gear I currently own.

Kinda' cool when I look at it that way - it has pretty much turned into a self sustaining hobby for me.
