Oh yeah! DAC! Whoops!

And why do I have the feeling a Cary Amp would make my Solo cry?

I'd really like to try and A/B my solid state amp against one of the big boys someday - it was too crazy to do it at the NYC meet, so busy. But a later time, perhaps...

If I listed everything, It'd have to include the THREE freakin' pairs of Ety 4's I've accidentally left on airplanes over the years

, and that'd just be too painful...

Wow this is sobering; I’ve spent $4350 just on headphone-related items. This doesn’t include the thousands I’ve spent on my 2 speaker systems or my car audio system. I’ve probably spent about $10,000 on audio gear since discovering this site. This is staggering, especially considering the fact that I was unemployed for over 6 months last year after graduating from University. I was never interested in high-end audio at all until I joined this site over a year ago (June 2003). All I wanted was a better headphone than my awful MDR-V600. Now I’m hopelessly addicted to audio (just as I have been addicted to music) but now I’m finally “done” with headphones and other gear. I’m now on the hunt for non-sample rate locked DVD-Audio discs…

Have spent £2850 ($5300) on a headphone set up. All brought second hand apart from power conditioner and WNA PSU. If I had brought from new in the UK would have cost the best part of £7500 ($14000). Its the Nordost Valhalla that bump it up, all sounds good though. Things are a lot more expensive in the UK compared to the US.

Long live eBay, AudiogoN, PayPal and international transactions.

$770, soon to be $1570.

I'm a lightweight

But, this doesn't include the cost of salvaged components! Headphone rig ATM is around... Actually, I have no idea, since I don't know what all the salvaged stuff is worth. $500 for Stax SR-001 + PS + IC's, and ? for source/preamp. Then there is the portable, which is $410 all in all.

Definitely a lightweight.

Looking forward to being completely broke (but happy).

[Edit: Drugs + Sushi + Headphones + Music + Car + Computer (shudder to think what my box is worth

), how do I afford all this...]

Yes, actually. I posted that I was possibly interested in purchasing an AudioQuest Diamondback IC, and Bill told me to give him my address and he would send me his because it didn't workout with his system. It was a BIG help to me because I was really broke at the time. I offered to at least pay for the shipping, and he said don't worry about it. Although I wouldn't take advantage of his generousity by asking him for anything if I were you, if he knew you needed something he would probably just give it to you, that's just the kind of guy he is. What else can I say except, thanks Bill, your one of the reasons why Head-Fi is such a special place.
