A few pages back I posted my recipe for perogies cooked in cream. Recently I made it again but with a lower % cream and regular bacon instead of maple smoked bacon. It just wasn't the same. Lesson learned: fat makes it tasty!

Potato skins (yes, I really like green onions):

I regret eating all of those.  Good thing I omitted the bacon or I wouldn't be typing this...

Not shown: too much sour cream.

Cooked up a mess of Jamaican and Hawaiian food yesterday..Sadly it was all devoured before pictures could be had. Delicious Red rice, Kahlua pig, Fish loulou's, and pastilles. Rolling thirty pastilles in banana leafs is murder on the wrists.

^ Nice, haven't done that in a while.

Made a filet mignon steak sandwich with oven-crisped fries for supper tonight.

It's Tabasco-brand ketchup, but it wasn't hot enough so I jacked it up with some Dave's Naga Jolokia Ghost Pepper sauce

Next time I will skip the Tabasco part and get some organic stuff to put the Dave's in

Found a nice recipe to combat cold winter...

Lentil stew with root vegetables, kale, and andouille sausage.

Stage 1:

Stage 2:

Some balsamic vinegar, and cocoa powder add additional depth to the base, and the jalapenos give it just enough extra zest.
