I like love my new Sennheiser HD238 I got for $30 from Amazon. A quick search of the headphones on Head-Fi keeps mentioning the Asteroid mod, where the inner foam (black) is taken out to change the sound. Does anybody know how this affects the 238's

Works better with 228 i think (pads collapse a little on 238) , it opens up the soundstage a little and removes some of the mud from the bass / mid crossover.
