Constantly out of stock. It's a pain.Ordered a unit, new batch will be shipped in September.
With the Holo Spring 3 KTE, I don't see an advantage in using I2S instead of USB and so you can eleminate also the Gustard.Let me start from here, if I replace the Gustard U18 DDC with Holo Red, is an upgrade for sure in terms of sound quality?
I use Roon Rock on dedeicated Fanless PC i5 =>USB=>U18=>I2s>Holo Spring 3 KTE
thanks if someone can make some comment on this.
The Red used as Roon endpoint (and connected to the Spring through USB or I2S) can perhaps be an upgrade (I've the Red connected to my Holo Audio May), but for you I see the potential biggest upgrade in using HQPlayer together with the Spring and then you'll need a PC with more horse power...
True, last few months you can't see any available or on stock. I have ordered from magnahifi.com, so I hope the batch will be shipped as they mentioned on the website in September.Constantly out of stock. It's a pain.

So, I'm one of the lucky ones that has a Holo Red in my chain. Hooked up to my Chord Dave. It sounds really very good, I am happy with the purchase. My Red did come with an SD card with the Holo OS on it, that does everything I need. My Roon Server is on a NUC7i7BNH in an AKASA Plato X7 case, fanless, with BIOS settings disabling everything I do not need. The combination sounds excellent.
Next to the Holo OS, I also got an additional SD card with GentooPlayer. When just using Roon, is there any sonic advantage to using GentooPlayer? Same question for RopieeeXL? For functionality, I don't need more than Holo OS, so it is just about the sound quality. Anyone compared?

USB is leading. if usb is plugged in it will act as DDC only.Won't it boot in this case with the OS that was flashed on the SSD card?
GentooPlayer, for instance?
unless somone got the USB redirector to work theoretical that should alow you to have USB in go to AES out and Streamer to usb. or USB in to USB out but that is rather pointless since usb does not carry a clock

If you're only using the Roon bridge, than you'll the same versions on Ropiee and Holo OS.So, I'm one of the lucky ones that has a Holo Red in my chain. Hooked up to my Chord Dave. Some people are meaning, that there's a better SQ in using Gentoo player, but I don't agree with them.
With GentooPlayer the sound will be much better even if you stream RAAT instead of Diretta.hen just using Roon, is there any sonic advantage to using GentooPlayer?

For me it does improve sound. Be sure to use RT Kernal and ramsystem.
I don't know if it is a right place to say about it. I just want to ask did anybody try the DENAFRIPS new streamer 'ARCE'. Seems good, similar price range w/ RED.

Anyone had this issue and know of a mitigated way to go around it?Red is working flawlessly on my Roon, but recently some usage of Spotify connect for some PodCast that i am interested ran me into an issue that i couldn't resolve. Whenever I finished my Spotify session (I do disconnect the Red from Spotify connect) and return to Roon, it always have an error "Failed to open audio device", and I need to restart the Red to make it work again with Roon, anyone experienced this and if there's a fix around this?
Red is on latest firmware, connected to Holo DAC via USB out (I've tried Coax out too), but both interface output consistently replicate the issue once Spotify Connect used.
Love to get some feedback here
Much appreciated
