High End CIEM/IEM Thread!

All I can say, I will never ever do any business with JHA and their un-etic customer service even if they brought the best-holy cow-awesome-over 9000 good sounding ciems. No way man. I prefer to throw my money in thrash rather than becoming their customer.

I've read about very good customer support experiences from some other people..

Its inconsistent at best. The jh3a and to a lesser extent the Roxanne probably didn't help them the way they handled orders and delays

CIEM question. Have a pair that don't seem to sound quite 'right' and they seal fine with jaw closed but unseal when mouth moves say into a facial expression or opening and closing (impressions taken with jaw open about 1cm, no biteblock). I see now that many IEM makers require open mouth impressions to be taken, I can't recall which OEM instruction sheet I gave my audiologist but this did not mention it, I then gave my impressions to another company as I changed my kind about which IEMs I wanted.

Audiologist saw them moving and claims they're not meant to, but would like opinions from the wisdom of CIEM users here, thanks.

To my mind both of you need to reshell your CIEM with a better set of ear impressions. Losing bass is exactly symptomatic of losing fit.

If I lose a lot of bass when I listen lying down is this normal or do I need a refit?

if you feel you need a refit, due to the fact that you have sound leakage in the laying position....  be sure to get your new impressions, while you are in a laying position......

but don't be surprised if you have sound leakage when you are in a sitting up position after that.

A simple test:

Place your pinky deep into your ear canal, and open your mouth, move your jaw around...   you will feel the ear canal changeing in shape.  Your ear canal is not static, it changes in shape with jaw movement, neck movement, head position etc etc.....   I'd be shocked if your audiologist didn't know this.
