Im not gonna say alot but Susvara(3.5mm, stealth magnets) are not convincing me of justice right now.
EDIT: Maybe Arya has tuned my ears towards Arya....Susvara just keeps reminding me of a bad EQed kick/drum.
EDIT2: Maybe TT2 is just the perfect match for Arya V2

The Susvara's presentation isn't for everyone but it's also not straightforward and some take time to figure it out and end up falling in love with it. Give it time, and maybe some of the recommended amps to pair it with. Enjoying the Arya more can happen, it's a subjective hobby at the end of the day.

Time to figure it out is so correct. Coming from He1000se, Susvara was good when new but not particularly great. Then one day after about 2 months, I was astonished at what I was hearing. I could not go back to He1000se now.
Had some time with Arya and He1000 v2 as well. Had LCD4 too. Whilst I like those headphones when I hear them, there's no way they sound better to my ears than Susvara.
I am rather puzzled when I hear recessed vocals with Susvara because there's no way I hear recessed vocals and I listen to vocals a lot. You have to come here and listen to Susvara through my tube amps and be presented with one of the most magical mids.

I love them both, but the Susvara is so much better. I've had the Arya for a while before getting the Susvara, and loved the Susvara from the first second. It was, and remains, incomparable to me.
It could be that you simply have ears that perceive things differently than most of us. Never discount subjectivity. In the end, it's not what reviewers or others say, but what you like. It's OK for you to not like the Susvara! Will that be unusual? Yes, but legitimate and possible!
It could also be that your amplification is lacking. I've lost track by now what you have decided to use as an amp. But if it's not a very good amp, you may simply not be experiencing what Susvara is meant and able to offer. Rivers of comments streamed under that bridge here, so no need to add to that. Just make sure you get to at least test and experience it somewhere with one of the (many) suggestions offered here and elsewhere.
Either way, give yourself 2-3 weeks to adjust and get-to-know.
My bet is Sus might just not be for your preference. And imho that's happening to any TOTLs because of subjectivity of human ears/brain/taste. Nothing wrong. I can confess I'd take Clear over Utopia..
FWIW all the HFM headphones have recessed upper midrange (which I often call HFM scoop) with varying intensity. This can make some people feel recessed in certain vocals. I do know some Sus owners prefer forwarding gears to pair with. But given that Arya is perfectly working for you, that's probably not the case.
I am also owning both Susvara and Arya (v3 SE). To me, beside huge gap in technical performance, Arya is much sharper and occasionally more sibilant in middle trebles than Susvara although Arya v3 was the least so among all the Arya/HE1k variants I tried out. Inversely speaking, if you like how Arya sounds, there's good chance that Sus didn't do enough justice to your preference.
PS. Personally I'm seriously considering to put my Arya on sale. To my ears, gears, and musics/genres, Arya couldn't hold their own at all. They do have similar sets of strengths, and Susvara are far better to my preference in all aspects (even after self-adjusting against price difference).
PS2. Agreed with the above recommendations to take more time.. One of the ground truths in this hobby.
When I first got my set, I could tell the Susvara was really good, but I wasn't fully convinced it was great either and I was glad that I still had my HEKv2. After a while it hit me that I was spending so much time comparing the Susvara to the HEKv2 that I wasn't allowing myself to really hear the Susvara. Once I decided I needed to give the Susvara a fair chance, and put the HEK down for a couple weeks well.., after about a month I couldn't put the Susvara down. Eventually sold the HEKv2 and a D8Kpro because they were not getting any use.
That may not ever be the case for you, but as others have said, try giving it some time. If it doesn't work for you after that so be it, don't continue to force yourself into it, sell it and enjoy the Arya with no worries.
Having had the Arya Stealth, HEKse and Susvara all at the same time for quite a while, only the Susvara is left. In the beginning I got hyped up in the chase for best amplification and after around 25 head and speaker amps, I found the amp that serves my ears and setup the best.
The beauty of the Susvara is that it always sound slightly different depending on the amp you use. Also, if your source and DAC is not up to much, there’s no point creating a drama which amp sounds best or even blaming the Susvara for crappy sound.
The Chord Hugo TT2 is not too shabby with the Susvara.

Hard agree. It's all about taste and preference in the end. Worth trying out every candidate amp by oneself. I found (1) some didn't work for me regardless of overwhelmingly positive reviews, (2) some worked for my flavor regardless of negative/skeptical consensus, and (3) none of these prevented me from appreciating Sus's greatness.
Every one perceives sound different. I came from Ananda, Arya V2, HEKV2, HEKSE to Susvara. Sold everything else as none of those, for me, do what the Sus does. HEkSE has a much louder/evident vocal presentation, almost in your face. If I put them down and pick the Susvara, the Sus sounds like vocals took a back stage, but that was because HEKSE had exaggerated vocals to begin with. Took me a little time but realized nothing sounds as good as the Sus across the entire FR, this is based on my preference. The HEKV2 was much closer to Susvara than anything else.
This is a great place where everyone shares there opinion and tastes. It is absolutely ok to disagree and we should avoid imposing our opinions on others to sway them to like what we like. A unique community builds a better bond, what fun will there be if everyone was alike.
